Several years ago a brilliant young lady suggested that I take a taperecorder,walk intoeachroomofmyhomeanddescribeclearlywhat Iwishedthatroomtolooklike.Somethingwonderfulhappened!IdescribedexactlyhowmanypensandpencilsIwanted,thekindofpaperIwantedbesidethetelephone,andsoforth.Itbecamedetailed,energizingandthrilling!

Fewpeoplehave taken the time to findoutwhat reallyexcites,energizesandmotivatesthempersonally.

Something interesting happened in my personal meditation time someweeks ago. I hadbeen a little concerned thatmy interests frequently changed.For example, the colors my decorator would select for my home would beexcitingand thrilling tome. I felt that Iwouldneverwant tochangemymindabout them for years to come. A few weeks later, I discovered anothercombination of colors that excited me again. Obviously, I did not feelcomfortable about suddenly changing everything that had been done in myhome,nordidIreallyhavethefinancestodoso.Iboughtacar.Ilovedit...for

about3weeks.Then,Iwasboredandwantedachange.Ifelt impressedofTheHolySpirit tobegin towritedowna listof things

that had never changed inside me over many years. It was quite a list ofinterestingthings...anditreallyputmymindateasethattherewasmorestabilitywithinmethanIrealized.Manythingshaveneverchangedwhat-soeverwithinme, such as my love for information, my desire to collect books and myexcitementoverreceivingararenewcoinfromafriend.Anotherthingthathadneverchangedwasmycontinualneedtochangemyenvironment.Regardlessofhowbeautifullymybedroomorkitchenwasdecorated...within12monthsorso,Iwastiredofit.Thathasbeenaconsistenttrait.

Somethingsneverchangeaboutyou.Whatare they?Putdown thisbookforabout15minutes.Takea sheetofpaper, andasquicklyand thoroughlyaspossible, begin to document the things about yourself that have been prettyconsistent over the years. Someyears ago, I askeda consultant to come intomyoffices for severaldays.Hewastodiscussanycomplaintsorideaswitheachmemberofmystaff.ThenIwantedhimtocompileareport,unbiasedandunprejudiced,astowhathethoughtaboutourministryorganization.Heinterrogatedmeandquestionedmeforhours.Hewouldtakelongwalkswithmeandrideinthecar;evenwhileIwas in crusades, we would talk on the phone. His constant questioningsharpenedmyfocusremarkably.Ihaveneverforgottentheexperience.

Hewas relentless incollectingdataaboutmypersonalneeds,desiresandappetites towardlife.Whenwerethehappiestmomentsofmylife?Whatdaysdid I seem toenjoy lifemore thanusual?Whatwere the3biggestproblems Ithoughtaboutthemost...everyday?Whowerethepeoplethatwerestressfulforme to be around? Who were the people in whose presence I was the mostrelaxed?HowdidIwanttoberemembered?WhatdidIconsidertobethemostimportanttaskthatIdideachday,eachweek,eachmonth?IfIhadtoeliminate50 percent ofmy entireministryworkload,whatwould I delete? If Iwere tohave a sudden health crisis, experience a heart attack or some other medical

emergency,whatwouldIchangefirstaboutmydailylifestyle?Riveting questions were hurled at me continually. Slowly, but surely, a

remarkableunderstandingofwhatIreallywantedoutoflifedeveloped.Here is amarvelous little exercise. It couldchangeyour life forever.Ask

oneor twoofyourclosest friends,whoare skilledatanalyzinganddissectingsituations, to interrogateyou—quizzingyourelentlessly,extractinginformationfrom you until you have a perfect and complete photograph of the invisiblefuture you are laboring to bring to reality. Something is driving you...pushingyou toward your future. What is the invisible dream you are subconsciouslytryingtobirthwithinyouandyourlife?

DecisivenessIsMagnetic

Decisiveness is the catalyst for the aura that surrounds extraordinary andunforgettablepeople.Theysimplyknowexactlywhattheywant.

When you are sitting in a restaurant sometime, do a little test. Carefullyobservetheentryofcustomers.Noticethosewhosaunterandambleinasiftheyarenotquitecertaintheyhavechosentherightrestaurant.Theyslowlywalktotheirseatswonderingif theyshouldevenstayat therestaurant,andareunsureabout which table to select. Then, observe carefully those who stride inconfidentlyandwithafirm,clearandraisedvoice,expresstothehostessoftherestaurant,“Goodevening!Weneedatablefor4...bythewindow,ifpossible!”Notice how the hostess responds quickly, with enthusiasm and immediatelybeginstocommunicatetotheotherworkersexactlywhatwasrequested.

Whenorderingyourownmealatarestaurant,speakup.Speakfirmly.Donotmumble.

Someone has said, “If youwill raise your voice 10 percent andwalk 20percent faster, youwill generate remarkable new energy, compelling others torespondfavorablytoyou,thusraisingthelevelofself-confidenceineverysinglepersonaroundyou.”

Scripturescommandus toavoid indecisiveness.“But lethimask in faith,nothingwavering.Forhethatwaverethislikeawaveoftheseadrivenwiththewindandtossed.ForletnotthatmanthinkthatheshallreceiveanythingoftheLord.Adoublemindedmanisunstableinallhisways,”(James1:6-8).

WhatIsCausingYourIndecision?

Whathappenswhenyouaretotallyundecidedaboutanissueordecision?Thereisareasonforit.Thereasonmaybelackofsufficientinformation...itmaybe lackofaccurate information.When thishappens,simplydeclarewithgreatdecisiveness, “I have decided to wait 90 days until additional informationarrives.”You have retained the climate of confidence and decisiveness.Makedecisionsclearly.

NoticeRuthsaiditquiteclearly,“Whitherthougoest,Iwillgo;andwherethoulodgest,Iwilllodge,”(Ruth1:16).

Sheknewwhatshewanted.ShecommunicatedtoNaomiwhatshewanted.Shewasboldaboutwhatshewanted.

You Will Only Be Remembered For Your Obsession. It may be a goodobsession or an evil obsession. Whether you are Billy Graham or AdolphHitler...youwill be known for one thing...what consumes you, your mind andyourtime.

ConsiderMoses.TheBiblesays,“Whenhewascometoyears,refusedtobecalledthesonofPharaoh’sdaughter;ChoosingrathertosufferafflictionwiththepeopleofGod,thantoenjoythepleasuresofsinforaseason;EsteemingthereproachofChristgreaterrichesthanthetreasuresinEgypt:forhehadrespectuntotherecompenceofthereward,”(Hebrews11:24-26).

ThereisnoPlanBforyourlife.Thereisonlyoneplan...oneMasterPlanoftheCreatorWhomadeyou.Considernothingelseasanoption.

ThisiswhatmadeRuthanunforgettablewoman.As Naomi walked with her two daughters-in-law, Orpah and Ruth, she

turned and said, “Go, return each to hermother’s house: theLorddeal kindlywithyou,asyehavedealtwiththedead,andwithme.TheLordgrantyouthatyemayfindrest,eachofyouinthehouseofherhusband.Thenshekissedthem;and they liftedup theirvoice,andwept,” (Ruth1:8-9).Shekissed them.Theywept.

Bothsaid,“Wewillreturnwiththeeuntothypeople.”Naomiinstructed,“Turnagain,mydaughters:whywillyegowithme?are

there yet anymore sons inmywomb, that theymay be your husbands?Turnagain,my daughters, go yourway; for I am too old to have an husband. If Ishouldsay, Ihavehope, if I shouldhaveanhusbandalso tonight,andshouldalsobearsons,”(Ruth1:11-12).

Theylifteduptheirvoice.Theyweptagain.Orpahleft.Yet,Ruthcleaveduntoher.Naomirebukes,“Behold,thysister

in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thysisterinlaw,”(Ruth1:15).

Ruthwastenacious.Shewasbold.Shewasfocused.Yes,herhusbandwasdead.Herfather-in-lawwasdead.Hersister-in-lawhadreturnedtoherfamily.Hermother-in-lawwasinstructinghertoreturnhome.There was not a single Encourager in her circle. She did not have one

singlespiritualcheerleaderinherlife.Shewasalone.Shewastheonlyonewiththedesiretopursueadifferentfuture.HerPasthadnoencouragingmemories.HerPresenthadnoencouragingmotivation.HerFuturewasuptoheralone.Sheknewit.“Intreatmenottoleavethee,ortoreturnfromfollowingafter

thee:forwhitherthougoest,Iwillgo;andwherethoulodgest,Iwilllodge:thypeopleshallbemypeople,andthyGodmyGod:Where thoudiest,will Idie,and therewill I be buried: theLord do so tome, andmore also, if ought butdeathparttheeandme,”(Ruth1:16-17).

She was willing to motivate herself when nobody else was capable or

caring.Most of us appreciate a lot of encouragement... daily...consistently. It is

wonderful when your mate is there to hold your hand through the valleys ofuncertainty.Itisapreciousthingwhenyourlittlegirllooksupandsays,“Daddy,youcandoanything!”

YourpastorisagiftfromtheLordwhenhelooksintoyoureyesandtellsyou,“Iprayedforyoulastnight,andGodspoketometoreassureyou,andtellyouthatyourcircumstancesaregoingtochangeverysoon.”

DoYouReallyFeelAlone?

Now,takesheetnumbertwoandwrite,“My12MonthGoals.”Nowlisteverythingyouwanttogetdonewithinthenext12months.Now,takethethirdsheetofpaperandwrite,“My30DayGoals.”Nowwriteoutindetailwhatyouwouldliketoaccomplishforthenext30

days.Now, take a fourth sheet of paper and write, “My Ideal Success Daily

Routine.”Nowwrite down the 6most important things youwill do in the next 24

hours.Setyourgoals.Yourgoalswillchangethroughoutyourlife.

Someday,youwill lookbackat thisverymomentandbeamazedatyourpresentgoals.Thingssovitaltoyouat20yearsofagewillbecomeunimportanttoyouat30.

6HelpfulTipsConcerningYourDreamsAndGoals

1. InvestOneHour InWritingDownClearlyTheGoalsThatReallyMatterToYouAtThisPoint.“Writethevision,andmakeitplainupontables,thathemayrunthatreadethit,”(Habakkuk2:2).

2. Permit Unexciting Dreams of Yesterday To Die. Stop pursuingsomething that does not have the ability to excite you anymore. Do not feelobligatedtokeeptryingtoobtainit...ifyouareinadifferentplaceinyourlife.

3.DoNotDependOnOthersToUnderstandYourDreamsAndGoals.Permit them their individuality, also.They have every right to love the thingstheylove.However,refusetobeintimidatedbytheireffortstopersuadeyoutomoveinadifferentdirectionwithyourlife.

4.NeverMake PermanentDecisionsBecause of Temporary Feelings.Oneyoungladygotsoexcitedaboutanewfriendthatshedroppedtheleaseonherownapartmenttomoveinwithherfriend.Withinaweek,sherealizedhermistake!

5. Avoid Intimate Relationships With Those Who Do Not ReallyRespectYourDreams.Youwillhavetoseverties.Wrongpeopledonotalwaysleaveyourlifevoluntarily.Lifeistooshorttopermitdiscouragersclosetoyou.“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but ratherreprovethem,”(Ephesians5:11).

6.AnticipateChangesInYourGoals.Yourpresentfeelingsandopinionsarenotpermanent.Newexperiencesarecoming.New relationshipsareahead.Stayconsciousofthis.

WhyContentiousPeopleAreDeadly

1.ConflictDistractsYouFromYourDreamsAndGoals.Bytheway,acontentiouspersonoftenconsidersthemselvesveryhonestandupfront.Infact,they usually take pride in telling you “the way things really are.”Subconsciously, they are often modeling someone in their life (a father ormother) who accomplished their goals through intimidation. Subconsciously,theyadmirethispersonandhavedecidedtofollowthatpattern,failingtoseethelossescreatedthroughthiskindofattitude.

2. Nothing Is More Harmful To A Company Than A ContentiousEmployee. Every boss knows this.When an employee cannot get alongwithother employees, profits are lost. That employee becomes costly. Focus isbroken. Other employees become emotionally fragmented. Important projectsaredelayed.

3.ContentiousPeopleDestroyTheMomentum,BondingAndSynergyThatAgreementCanCreate.“Markthemwhichcausedivisionsandoffensescontrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them,” (Romans16:17).

4.AContentiousPersonIsAlwaysADoorForSatanToLaunchEveryEvil Work In An Organization. “For where envying and strife is, there isconfusionandeveryevilwork,”(James3:16).

5.Contentious PeopleOften SabotageTheWork ofGod.Many yearsagoIheardoneofthemoststartlingstatementsfromafamousmissionary.IwassittingundersomehugetreesinEastAfrica.Monkeyswerejumpingfromtreelimb to tree limb. My precious missionary friend explained the number onereason some missionaries never fulfill their full term on the field. (I thoughtmissionariescamehomeduetosickness,cultureshockorlackoffinances.)

“Mike,thenumberonereasonmissionariesdonotstayonthemissionfieldis their inability to get along with other missionaries.” Think about it.

Missionaries, who should be obsessed with sharing the Gospel, often returnhome because of their failure to create harmony and an environment ofagreement.

6.ContentionIsContagious.Whensomeonepermitsthespiritofconflictanddisputingtoentertheirlife, theywill influenceandaffecteveryonearoundthem. I have seen a happy, peaceful household turn argumentative within 30minuteswhen a contentious person entered the room. That person carried thespiritofcontentionwiththem.

7. You Can Succeed Almost Anywhere Else, Except With AContentiousPerson. “It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, thanwithabrawlingwomanandinawidehouse,”(Proverbs25:24).

WhoAreYourTrouble-Makers?

ConflictAlwaysBeginsWithAPerson...NotMerelyAnIssue.1. Contentious People Are In Total Opposition To The Law of

Agreement,TheGreatestLawofSuccessOnEarth.“Twoarebetterthanone;becausetheyhaveagoodrewardfortheirlabour.Foriftheyfall,theonewillliftup his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath notanothertohelphimup,”(Ecclesiastes4:9-10).

2. Contentious People Discuss Situations That Do Not InvolveThemselves. This is one evidence of a contentious person. They discuss thebusinessofothers.“Hethatpassethby,andmeddlethwithstrifebelongingnottohim,islikeonethattakethadogbytheears,”(Proverbs26:17).

3. A Contentious Person Enjoys Debate, Disputings And OpposingWhateverHasBeenSpoken.Acontentiouspersonalwayslooksforareasontodisagreeaboutsomething.Theyignoreeverypointofagreement.

4.AContentiousPersonIsInOppositionToGodlyWisdom. “But theWisdomthat isfromaboveisfirstpure, thenpeaceable,gentle,andeasytobeintreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and withouthypocrisy,”(James3:17).

5. A Contentious Attitude And Spirit Is Always Birthed ByUnthankfulness.ItisasinthatGodabhors.Itwasthefirstsinevercommitted.Satanwasunthankfulforhispositionandchosetofightforachange.Ingratitudeis poisonous. It can destroy a family within weeks. It can ruin a successfulorganizationwithinmonths.Churches explodingwithgrowthhave fragmentedwithinweekswhenaspiritofingratitudeinfectedthecongregation.

HowToRespondToContentiousPeople

1.TheCharacterofAContentiousPersonIsOnlyRevealedWhenYouRebukeThem. If he is a scorner and fool, he will hate you. If he is a wisepersonsimplyneedingcorrection,hewillloveyou.“Reprovenotascorner,lesthehatethee:rebukeawiseman,andhewilllovethee,”(Proverbs9:8).

2.AnyContentiousConversationMustBeBoldlyFacedAndStoppedImmediately. Interrupt the conversation with, “It is wonderful howGod willturnthisforourgood!IamsothankfulforwhatHeisabouttodo!WehaveawonderfulGod!”Itwillbelikethrowingcoldwateronadestructivefire.

3. The Contentious Person Must Be Confronted Honestly AndCourageouslyAboutTheirAttitude.Others are bold enough to poison yourclimate and atmosphere with “arrows of unthankfulness” piercing the air. So,dominateyourturf.Takecharge.Useyourwordstoturnthetide.

4. Any Contentious Person Who Refuses To Change Must NotContinueToHaveAccessToYou.“Wherenowoodis,therethefiregoethout:sowherethereisnotalebearer,thestrifeceaseth.Ascoalsaretoburningcoals,andwoodtofire;soisacontentiousmantokindlestrife,”(Proverbs26:20-21).Your attitude is apersonal decision. Your attitude is amood created by yourchosenfocus.

Agreementisthegreatestenemysatanhaseverfaced.AnticipateAndAvoidUnnecessaryConflict.ThisisOneoftheSecretstobecominganUncommonLeader.

INVESTTHETIMENECESSARYTONEGOTIATEEFFECTIVELY

NegotiateEverything.I walked into a luggage store in Dallas many years ago. When I had

selected the luggage I desired, I asked the young lady if she could provide a“corporatediscount.”

“Whatisacorporatediscount?”“Fortypercentoff.”“Allright!”washerreply.With one simple question, I saved several hundred dollars. Negotiate

everything.While standing at the airline counter, I was informed that my excess

baggagewasover$200.“Iwashopingyouwouldshowmealittlemercytoday,”Ijokedgently.The agent thought for a fewmoments and replied, “All right.”With one

simplestatement,Isavedover$200.Negotiateeverything.Yourwordsarecreatingfinancialgainorloss.Yourwordsarebringingincreaseordecrease.Yourwordsarecreatingdoorsorwalls.Yourwordsarebridgesorbarricades.TheScripture teaches it:“Amanshalleatgoodby thefruitofhismouth:

but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence,” (Proverbs 13:2). “Thewickedissnaredbythetransgressionofhislips:butthejustshallcomeoutoftrouble,”(Proverbs12:13).

PursueNegotiationWisdom.1. Attend Negotiation Seminars, Listen To Tapes And Secure The

CounselofQualifiedMentorsBeforeDoingAnySeriousNegotiation.2.SuccessfulNegotiationRequiresTheRightAttitude.Nobodywantsto

betakenlightly, intimidatedorpushed.Everybodyis involved.Theladyintheluggagestorewanted to sell the luggage,create favorandahappycustomer. I

gave her the information which would accommodate that need, a 40 percentdiscount. (I later returned to buy many other items because of the favor sheshowed.)

Iasked.“Ineeda$1,000amonthraise.”I almost laughed. I really thought she was joking. She was not. She

continued, “Myhusbandand I aremoving into anewhome thatwehave justbuilt,andIreallyneedtheincometopayforthehouse.”

Itwasridiculoustome,Ialmost laughedaloud.Iproceededtoadvisehergentlythat,perhaps,itwouldbewellforhertofindanotherjobwhereshecouldsecurethesalarysheneeded.Iasked,“Yourpresentsalarywascreatedbyalistofproblemsyouchosetosolveforme.Nowyouwantahugeincreaseinsalary.Doyouhavealistofthenewproblemsyouwillbegintosolveforme?”

Ithadnevercrossedhermindtosolvemoreproblemsforhernewsalary.5. Successful Negotiation Involves Long-Term Gain, Not Short-Term

Gain.Thefamousbillionaire,SamWalton,saidheneverinvestedinacompanyfor where it would be in 18 months. He invested in companies that wouldsucceed10yearsdown the road.Anemployeecanoften squeezeout an extradollar from a boss during a crisis situation. If it creates a wall of separationthough,thatstaffpersoncancauseadeeperprobleminthelong-term.

6.SuccessfulNegotiationRequiresQualityTime.Donotrushanything.Youwillneverdowellinsomethingthathasnottakenthought...sufficienttimeto collect information and necessary data. Run from the salesmanwho insiststhat“thisisthelastdayofthissale.”Donotfallforit.Whenyoureturnamonth

later, theywill still deal! They need your purchasemore than they need theirownproduct.

7. Listen Longer To The Needs of Others. Listeners are rare. You aredevelopinganunderstandingoftheconcerns,fearsandpassionoftheheartsofthose at the negotiating table.Wisdom is worth any price. Invest the time tolistenthoroughly,compassionatelyandexpectantly.

8. Successful Negotiation Should Focus On Details ThatMatter TheMost.Severalyearsago,animpressiveyoungcouplewrotemeaboutajob.Hewasmaking$5anhour.Hewasridingamotorcycletohissecondjob.Hehadtwojobsat$10anhourtotal.Theyweredestitute.Myheartwentouttothem.Theyhaddrivenallnight tomeetmeface-to-faceforaninterview.Iagreedtopay him for 8 hours a day what both his jobs were presently providing forworking16hoursaday.Then,asagestureofcaring,Iincludedtheirhousingiftheywoulddoadditionalyardworkatmyhome.Theywerethrilledandelated.Overaperiodoftime,Ipurchasedfurniture,dishes,clothesandsoforth.Theywereenjoyable,soIwashappytodoso.

Soon, someonemust have inspired them to negotiate formore. At everyopportunity to “squeeze me,” such as appliance breakdowns...they pushed. Inoticedapattern.Itbecameone-sided.

Whenyouhavemanyemployees,youcannotgiveeverybodyaraisewhenyoudesire.Youcannotalwaysgiveittothemthemomenttheydeserveit.Youhave to think long-term for the organization. Something within me becameagitated.Whentheovenbrokedown,theywantedmetoreplaceit.Iwaswearyofreplacingeverything.Irequestedthattheypayhalf,andIwouldpaytheotherhalf.Theyattemptedtouseharshwordstonegotiatewithme.Iamnotthekindofpersonwhorespondswelltointimidation.

I realized theywerefrustrated,soIexplained that theyhad45days togofindanewhouse,and theycouldpurchase it themselves.Yes, theyweregoodpeople, butwere poor at negotiation.They lost awonderful blessing trying tosqueeze“anextranickel.”Donotlosedollarstryingtosavepennies.

Yes,Iagree,youropiniondeservestobeheard.However, make certain that it is heard at the right time in the right

environmentandwiththerightattitude.Negotiateeverything.InvestTheTimeNecessaryToNegotiateEffectively.ThisisOneoftheSecretstobecominganUncommonLeader.

Several years ago, I arrived at the house of a young lady to take her tosupper.Asweweredrivingtotherestaurantsheremarked,“Ihadanotherdateplannedtonight,butItoldhimIhadtovisitarelativeinthehospital.”

She had lied. It sickened me. I had been excited about establishing arelationship with her only to find out within minutes that falsehood camenaturallyandeasilytoher.Obviously,Iwouldbethenextvictimonherlist.ItwasthefirstandlastdateIhadwithher.

Whateverittakes...developintegrity.Focus on it. Carefully examine eachword and sentence that comes from

yourlips.Neversayanythinginsincere.Refusetobragonsomeone’ssingingifit isuntrue.Donotsay thingsmerely toencourageothers.“Recompense tonomanevilforevil.Providethingshonestinthesightofallmen,”(Romans12:17).

ThecompassionofRuthwasknown.Observehowawomanspeaks tohermother.Notewellhowaman treats

hismother.Also, observe how he reacts to the struggle and heartaches of theunfortunate.

Ruth’spurityandvirtuewereknown.Theentiretownknewofherobsessionandkindnesstohermother-in-law.

Theysaidshetreatedhermother-in-lawbetterthan7sonswouldtreatamother.Thatkindoftreatmentisalmostunheardoftoday.

4.CloseEveryDoorWithPromisesFulfilled.Donotleaveyourjobuntilyouhavefinishedwhatyoupromised.Completeeveryvow...whateverthecost.Integrity is easy to test. Simply ask, “Did I fulfill my promise?” (SeeEcclesiastes5:4-5.)

Whenpeopleloseyouinthe“forestofwords,”applythePrincipleofVowFulfillment. Forget the blaming, complaining and accusations. This principlerevealseverythingyouneedtoknowaboutanother.

5. Close Every DoorWith Integrity. Few will do it. People are rarelyangry for the reason they tell you. Much is never discussed. The trap ofdeceptionisdeadly.Itbeginswhenyoudeceiveyourself...thenthosearoundyou.Always be honest to others about the reason for the doors closing. It is notnecessary to give every detail. It is important that the details you give areaccurate.

6.CloseEveryDoorWithCourage.Itisnotalwayseasytocloseadoorthat The Holy Spirit requires you to close. Closing that door requiresUncommon Courage to face the future without that person. Fatigueaffectsmeintheoppositemanner.Jesusunderstoodthis.ThatiswhyHeencouragedHisdisciplesto,“Come

yeyourselvesapart intoadesertplace,andrestawhile,” (Mark6:31).Oneofourgreatpresidentsoncesaidthathewouldnevermakeadecisionpast3:00intheafternoon.Hewastootiredandwearytoconsidereveryoptionavailable.

4.YouBecomeLessTolerantofTheViewsAndNeedsofOthers.Whenothersareweary,theyseemlessunderstandingofyourownopinionsandviews,also.

1.TheHolySpiritIsAlwaysOffendedByInsensitivityAndUncaringForOthers.“Inhonourpreferringoneanother,”(Romans12:10).

2.AlwaysMarkThoseWhoShowDisregardAndDisrespectForYourTime,TheMostPreciousGiftGodGaveYou.Iftheydonotrespectyourtime,neitherwilltheyrespectyourWisdom.

Or,youmayusetherewardsystem.“Son,Iknowyoudonotfeellikedoingit,butifyoudoit,Iwillpayyou$10.”Thatisincentive...reward...gain.

Jesususedbothmethodstomotivate.JesususedfearmotivationonPhariseeswhoridiculedHim.Hedescribedto

themhowthe richmanwent tohellandwas“tormented in this flame,” (Luke16:24).

However, when Jesuswas talking toHis disciples, He used rewards andincentives to motivate them. “InMy Father’s house are manymansions: if itwerenotso,Iwouldhavetoldyou.Igotoprepareaplaceforyou,”(John14:2).

You are created with a desire to increase. Decrease is unnatural.Remember,everypersonyoumeettodayhasanappetiteforincrease.Theywantto be benefited. There is nothing wrong with that. There is a God-givencommand on the inside of each person...to become more. To multiply. (SeeGenesis1:28.)

Carefully examine the benefits that you offer to others.Who needs yourproduct?Whydo theyneed it?Whatproblemwillyourproductsolve in theirlife?Whatdoyouofferothersthattheycannotfindanywhereelse?

Study the incentives of your present business. Know them thoroughly.Incidentally,peopleneverbuyyourproductforthereasonsyousellit.Theybuyproductsforwhatitwilldoforthem.

Stopbuildingwallsofdistrust.IsGodusingtheminyourownliferightnow?2. Favor Is AGift FromGod. He does not owe it to you. You cannot

purchasefavor.Othersarenotobligatedtoyou.(Whenyouobligateothers,youcreate a potential enemy.Those acts are called favors, not favor.) “And to theangelofthechurchinPhiladelphiawrite;ThesethingssaithHethatisholy,Hethatistrue,HethathaththekeyofDavid,Hethatopeneth,andnomanshutteth;andshutteth,andnomanopeneth,”(Revelation3:7).

3. Favor Is Necessary ForUncommon Success. You cannotwork hardenoughtogeteverythingyoudeserveandwant.Youcannotworkenoughjobstogenerate the financesyouwillneed forallyourdreamsandgoals.Othersoweyounothing.Yet,favorisnecessaryforyoutotakegiantleapsintoyourfuture.“SevendaysshaltthoukeepasolemnfeastuntotheLordthyGodintheplacewhich theLord shall choose: because theLord thyGod shall bless thee in allthine increase, and in all theworks of thine hands, therefore thou shalt surely

FavorbeginsasaSeedandendsasaHarvest.Whatyousowtodaywillre-enteryourlifeinyourfuture.ThisistheHarvestoffavor.“Benotdeceived;Godisnotmocked:forwhatsoeveramansoweth,thatshallhealsoreap,”(Galatians6:7).

6.FavorCanStopWhenYouDeliberatelyIgnoreAnInstructionFromGod. Saul ignored the instructions of Samuel to kill King Agag, and all theAmalekites.Favorstopped.GodalteredthemonarchyandDavidbecameking.“But Saul and the people sparedAgag, and the best of the sheep, and of theoxen,andof thefatlings,and the lambs,andall thatwasgood,andwouldnotutterlydestroythem:buteverythingthatwasvileandrefuse,thattheydestroyedutterly.Thencame thewordof theLorduntoSamuel, saying, It repentethMethatIhavesetupSaultobeking:forheisturnedbackfromfollowingMe,andhath not performedmy commandments.
