SEA SPACESSEA SPACESAerial SurveillanceAerial Surveillance

• The aerial surveillance can be used to fulfil the EMSA’s service and is the most effective way for detecting and deterring illegal discharges from sea-based source

• Ship masters have obligations to inform observed oil slick to VTS or MRCC.

• Aerial tools are mentioned as a part of the oil spill surveillance actions in the large scale recovery and combating operations

• At this moment there are no aerial surveillance actions, agreement or designated responsible bodies in Bulgaria to carry out this task
