Urgent Care CentersFor urgent but not life-threatening medical needs when your primary care doctor’s office is closed, you can visit our Urgent Care Centers. All of our physicians are either board certified or residency-trained in emergency medicine giving them the skills necessary to handle any urgent care medical problem. Many of our physicians have more than 10 years of experience working in the Emergency Department at Torrance Memorial Medical Center.

Torrance Memorial IPA is not a health plan Torrance Memorial IPA is not your insurance or health plan. We contract with major insurance companies that provide financial coverage for your medical care. As your “Medical Group” or “Physician Network,” Torrance Memorial IPA provides the medical care covered by your health plan.

How to Select a Medicare Advantage Health Plan and Join Torrance Memorial IPA

In four easy stepsEnroll in Medicare Parts A and BIf not enrolled already, call Social Security or go online to enroll at Medicare.gov. You will receive your Medicare card and your “Medicare & You” booklet in a few weeks.

Select a Medicare Advantage health plan If you need help with this, call our resource center at 310-257-7239 to schedule a one-on-one with a health insurance advisor.

Attend a FREE Medicare 101 Educational Program. To make a reservation, call 310-257-7239 or visit TorranceMemorialIPA.org/medicare101.

Choose Torrance Memorial IPA as your medical group When you choose a Medicare Advantage health plan, you should select a medical group. To select Torrance Memorial IPA as your medical group, you should select a primary care physician from the Torrance Memorial IPA network.

Look for your new insurance card Make sure your information and your doctor’s name is listed correctly and that it says “Torrance Memorial IPA” on your card. If this information is incorrect, call your insurance company and request that they correct the information. The Member Services' number can be found on the back of your insurance card.

You can switch to Torrance Memorial IPA anytime! If you are with a medical group or IPA other than Torrance Memorial IPA and would like to switch to Torrance Memorial IPA, you don’t need to wait until annual open enrollment. You can make the switch anytime throughout the year.

Simply follow these steps:

Ensure your health plan and your primary care physician (PCP) are contracted with Torrance Memorial IPANot sure? Call Torrance Memorial IPA Resource Center at 310-257-7239 to confirm.If your health plan or PCP are not contracted with Torrance Memorial IPA and you still want to join Torrance Memorial IPA, call the Torrance Memorial IPA Resource Center to get more help.

Contact your current health plan’s member servicesThe number can be found on your medical insurance card. Tell them that you would like to join Torrance Memorial IPA and give them the name of your Torrance Memorial IPA primary care physician.

Look for your new medical insurance card Make sure your information and your doctor’s name is listed correctly and that it says “Torrance Memorial IPA” on your card. If this information is incorrect, call your insurance company again and repeat steps 2 and 3.
