Bérénice shares 'Bond girl' billing alongside Naomie Harris in Daniel Craig's Skyfall, latest Bond outing. They join Bond on the trail of Raoul Silva's, the villain played by Javier Bardem. Bérénice's role is both glamorous and enigmatic, the essential ingredients of a true Bond girl. We hope, Berenice will be included in the top Bond girls list in times to come.

9. Solitaire (Jane Seymour)Live and Let Die (1973)

Jane Seymour plays the role of quite funnily named Bond Girl, "Solitaire" in Live And Let Die. She is endowed with the gift of reading Tarot cards. However, her powers will vanish when she sleeps with a man. Solitaire is a naive girl working for crime-lord Kananga, who is seduced by James Bond.


8. Tracy di Vicenzo (Diana Rigg)On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969)

Rigg replaced Honor Blackman on TV's 'The Avengers', where she became renowned as the toughest of dames as Emma Peel. However, in the movie, 'On Her Majesty’s Secret Service' opposite George Lazenby, she was portrayed as a lovelorn Mafia heiress, and probably gave the series' most heartfelt and least comic performance as a Bond girl. She was also the only woman you could imagine James Bond settling down with, which he did leading to her tragic death.


7. Fiona Volpe (Luciana Paluzzi)Thunderball (1965)

Fiona Volpe was a bad Bond girl, working as an assassin for SPECTRE in Thunderball (1965). Unlike many other Bond girls, she was not a weak bimbo who falls easily for James Bond's charms and boasts of this fact. She is a tough, independent, intelligent and cold-blooded woman who knows how to use her sexuality to get what she wants. She also has �the usual ‘sexy chick’ quotient, who wears motorbike leather, riding a deadly rocket loaded bike! In a role reversal of sorts, she picks up Bond in her convertible and scares him with speed.


6. Xenia Onatopp (Famke Janssen)GoldenEye (1995)


Xenia Onatopp was another of those Bond girls, who had an intriguing, evocative name. With her looks and body, she was the ultimate object of desire of guys: a woman who uses sex as a weapon and can't get enough of it. Xenia is supposedly the first Bond girl seen having an orgasm in the movies, and she also managed to revive Bond's leading ladies to some extent after a few years in wilderness.

5. Vesper Lynd (Eva Green)Casino Royale (2006)


Vesper Lynd, the first Bond girl from Fleming's novels, was one of his stronger female characters. French actress Eva Green was chosen to play Vesper in this series re-boot film. Witty and enigmatic, Eva was an ethereal beauty, the kind usually not associated with the role. She fit the role perfectly, bringing together some of the distinct traits of other memorable Bond girls.

4. Honey Ryder (Ursula Andress)Dr. No (1962)


Ursula Andress playing Honey Ryder stepped out of the sea in a white bikini and got etched in our memories forever as the iconic Bond Girl and immediately set the tone for every sexy-strong Bond girl who followed and led a generation of men to dream about them. Emerging from the beach with a hunting knife and sea shells, until the climax with Bond and drifting off into the sea, Ursula Andress as Honey did justice to the character.

3. Melina Havelock (Carole Bouquet) For Your Eyes Only (1981)


Director John Glen brought in Carole Bouquet in For Your Eyes Only (1981) when he decided to give a serious twist to Bond. She played the role of Melina Havelock, who witnesses the brutal murder of her parents by a hitman, whom she later kills. Not happy with his death alone, she goes after the man who ordered the hit. Melina was a very strong character, and more integral to the story than most Bond girls. Most importantly, she was played by a competent actress who gave some drama and life to the film.

2. Anya Amasova (Barbara Bach)The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)


Amasova was one of the early Bond girls, who could match with Bond and was probably, the Bond-girl response to women's liberation. Anya vows to kill Bond, after the mission is over, when she finds out, that Bond killed her boyfriend. However, she later develops feelings for Bond, was an intriguing character, and really helps to make the film.

1. Pussy Galore (Honor Blackman)Goldfinger (1964)


Possibly, having the most interesting name among Bond girls, Honor Blackman could do no wrong with her witty banter and the subtle humour in Goldfinger which makes her one of the most memorable and representative of early Bond girls. She was a gorgeous gal who could fly a plane and kick butt with equal alacrity as well as get intimate with Bond.
