The Times of the Tövusi-dökadö is my own bizarre tale, which integrates the richness of Native American culture and belief systems, with the Nevada Paiute transition before and after the European-American settlement. The story becomes a metaphor that expresses the negative role a permanent political organization had on Native American life, through vicarious imagery. Jack Wilson’s (Wovoka) prophecy and “The Ghost Dance” are pinnacle influences within my work. To create my images I worked with black ink directly into my sketchbook. I then rendered them into colour images using Photoshop. My work pattern and recorded thought processes are incredibly visual. I am excited by placement and composition and I use my rough imagery, thumbnails and artist research to piece together a sequential narrative. My work stems from studies regarding different livelihoods, cultures, and how the interaction of people within these creates influence and effect.
