The theme for our discipleship classes is GROW. It is God’s will for Christians to grow in their faith, being deeply rooted in His eternal Word. Peter in his second epistle exhorts us to; ”grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.” (2 Peter 3:18) The church was born by the word of promise through faith, and by this same word is nourished and preserved. It is the promises of God that make the Church and not the Church that makes the promises of God. Without the Word of God, we don’t have a covenant community of faith. The Word pre-ceded the Church, informs the life of the Church, and sustains the growth of the Church (John 1:1). The Word of God went out in Holy Spirit power, grant-ing the gift of faith in the hearts of people to believe in the grace offered in Jesus; people were saved and the Church was formed. This is how the Church grows and succeeds-- The Church matures by the power of God’s Spirit working in and through the Word as he massages it deeply into the life of His Body. A Church is alive and full when sustained by the Word of God (Matthew 4:4). The Word created a healthy church culture. By culture, I am not referring to the socioeconomic or ethnic mix of the Church. I am referring to the heart of the Church, the character of the Church. The Church’s culture is broader than a doctrinal statement expressing a commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ; it is centered and fueled by the reality of His birth, life, death, burial, and res-urrection - the Word of God is essential! The apostle Paul, writing to the Church in Ephesus, shares how God has gifted some to be teachers “to equip the saints for the work of ministry” (Ephesians 4:11). We’re saved to do gospel work, but we’ll never work effectively at spreading the Gospel until we are equipped in God’s Word. I am so thankful for those who have been graced with the gift to teach! We are blessed here at Greece Assembly with dedicated teachers - they love God, they love God’s Word, and they love teaching God’s people. Together, let’s purpose in our hearts and make it a priority to GROW in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. -Pat Medeiros, Lead Pastor

It is our desire that every junior/senior high school student at Greece Assembly would grow not only in the knowledge of the Word of God but in the application in their hearts. Through our GROW STUDENT classes, young people are taught how to take Bible teaching and make it a way of living in their everyday lives.

Young adults are invited to choose from any of our adult classes on a Sunday morning as well as be a part of “THE CHEW”, a Bible study specifically for young adults. The study is held at Mission Share with snacks and gourmet coffees. Follow the young adult ministry on Facebook to stay up to date:facebook.com/greeceassemblycatalyst

At Greece Assembly, we believe it’s important to teach our kids the Word of God at a level that they can understand and apply. Music, games and visual illustrations help children to remember the powerful stories and lessons they learn. kids

Books of Amos, Obadiah, Micah, Zephaniah Teachers: Pastor Ken Marshall, Paul Anderson-Assistant Sundays | 9:15 AM | Room 201

The twelve books we call the Minor Prophets represent God’s story spanning 450

years as He revealed Himself both to His people and to a watching world. They are

Minor Prophets because of their length, not their importance. The truth in God’s

Word illuminates the sinful state of our fallen world. Throughout history, that in-

sight has moved believers to act on their faith, to share His truth with a world in

need, and to burden us with a deep concern for people. The prophets Amos, Oba-

diah, Micah, and Zephaniah were each called to deal courageously and honestly

with the sin around them. This study explores how their concern for people shaped

their life-changing messages of repentance and redemption. As you consider God’s

prophetic timeline, this study is clearly relevant for today.

Book of 2 Corinthians Teachers: Joe Valenti, Brian Ostling– Assistant Sundays | 9:15 AM | Room 104 The book of 2 Corinthians is quite relevant today, especially for those who feel

called to Christian ministry. The first half of the book details the duties and privi-

leges of a leader. The epistle is also a tremendous source of hope and encourage-

ment for anyone suffering through trials. Suffering is part of Christian service; Paul

was no stranger to suffering. He endured much opposition, persecution, and even

a physical “thorn in the flesh” (2 Corinthians 12:7). Through painful experiences,

Paul learned how to comfort others. In this study you will learn about the ministry

of reconciliation, how to avoid the pitfalls of disunity, how to walk in love, forgive-

ness, and humility, as well as how to persevere and comfort others.

Wednesday Night Prayer Service

Inductive Bible Study Teachers: Pastor Bob Godula, Josh Medeiros– Assistant Sundays | 9:15 AM | Room 217

We want to hear what God is saying to us. We want to know who He is, what He’s done, and what He’s doing today. He has chosen to reveal Himself to us through His Word, but how do we study it? In 2 Timothy 2:15, Paul tells us to “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” In this class, we will teach and encourage you to study the Scriptures through careful observation, thoughtful interpretation, accu-rate cross-referencing, and relevant application of the text to our lives. We will choose a different passage each week, study it, break it apart, and then discuss what the Lord has shown us in our studies. This is a great class for anyone looking to get deeper in their daily quiet time with the Lord.

House or Home? (God’s Blueprint for a Great Marriage) Teacher: Pastor Dan Astuto Sundays | 9:15 AM | Room 106

It’s no secret that marriage is in trouble in America; Christians are not exempt from this trend. But there is hope! Despite the mounting pressure on couples, you really can have a great marriage, raise Godly kids and experience a healthy, life-giving home life with stability to weather life’s storms. This class will show you how. The Bible is the greatest book ever written on marriage and the family. During this 13- week study, you will discover and learn principles from God’s Word that will make your house a home if applied.

Wednesdays | 7:00 PM | Sanctuary

Join us each Wednesday night for a special time of worship, teaching through the book of Judges, and powerful prayer. We live and work among a great variety of gods – not only those of other formal religions, but also the gods of wealth, celeb-rity, pleasure, ideology, and achievement. Our era can be characterized by the phrase which sums up the book of Judges: “Everyone did what was right in his own eyes” (Judges 21:25). So despite the gap of over three millennia, there are many parallels between our situation and the time of the book of Judges. It was a time when God’s people daily faced the choice between looking to God as their Lord, or following the spirit and preferences of their age. Judges has only one hero – God. As we read Judges as an account of how God works in history, it comes alive. It’s not an easy read, but living in the times we do, it is an essential one.
