Our classes for 8-11 year olds allow students have fun as they start to learn what real actors do. Our acting classes teach the basics of physical and vocal training, theatre games, and improvisation. The musical theatre classes teach kids to act through a song and combining acting, singing and dancing to make them a triple threat! Both classes have an introductory and an intermediate level, and students will be placed in either level through a fun evaluation on the first day. Most classes conclude with a performance showcase for friends and family.

Our teen classes are open to ages 12-17, and are a great transition for teens to begin to fully understand the craft of acting. They are also ideal for teens looking to gain self-confidence. Our introductory level introduces the basic skills of character development and active listening, and the intermediate level digs deeper into creative expression and imaginative growth. For Intro/Intermediate, students will be placed in either level through a fun evaluation on the first day. We also offer a Teen Masters’ Division for serious young actors, and unless you have previously taken an advanced class with us, these classes are by RECOMMENDATION/INVITATION only. Please call for more information.
Our youngest program begins with Kids ages 5-7. Introduce your student to the magical world of theatre and watch their natural curiosity take flight! Kids will play a variety of games, create their own characters, and learn the vocabulary of real actors. Most classes conclude with a performance showcase, allowing family and friends to see just what all the fun has been about!

Class features 6 weeks of classes and a special performance of A Philly Phairy Tale by Walnut actors for students and family. Class taught by Resident Teaching Artist Jasmine Hammond and Emily Mattison.
