The ‘ASSETS’ that have the priority are: SPORTS TOURISM (in exponential growth since 1996 and without a year of decline), FOOD AND WINE (which is intertwined with farmlife, typical products and hospitality), CULTURE (which has very interesting things to offer, both from the past and present), SPIRITUALITY (that could be developed in an surprising way, given the large number of chapels and churches scattered throughout the area. Routes may be created that combine pilgrimages with nature tourism).

The project “TANARIA liberaMente” is based on three main ASSETS which are dictated andalmost imposed by its history: the river, the railway and the road. Apart from that there are allthe areas which gravitate towards the river Tanaro.
The dominating thought in the lay-out of the project was its final aim, which may seen veryambitious but has instead a great force and power for the touristic involved and it couldbecome an example for whole Italy.
Following the river with a cycling lane and a pedestrian path can attract many tourists in theseareas: we are talking of 280 kilometres of river from Alessandria to Ponte di Nava. The rivercrosses landscapes that are already now a tourist destination, without forgetting that thewaters of the Tanaro are flowing through the hilly zone of the ʻLangheʼ, a unique Unescoheritage, and share with it its life, its history and its products.

IN THE WINTER YOU CAN GOWALKING WITH SNOWSHOES OR SKI IN THE MOUNTIAINS USING THESKI PLANTS THAT LIE AT A DISTANCE OF ABOUT 15 TO 30 MINUTES BYCAR.
