The Tale of the Falling Bud

We each begin in innocence. Unsuspicious, bright eyed, self enclosed. There is no true enemy but time, the countdown to the fall...

And it is the allure of the unknown that will seduce me, for innocence has no strength against evil.

Everything invites me in. Voice, smell, face. Forbidden things have a secret charm and all lead me down the path of my undoing.

To themselves they are immortal.

They may know death

but will never know that they

are dead.

... and so they watch and they wait...

... always ready to pounce.

The hunt has become

the obsession.

Eventually the ritual of courtship proves too much for me to resist. I no longer have the strength to stay away from you so...

Catch me,

Desire me,

Take me

and

Possess me

until I am yours completely. I feel now that death is peaceful - easy. To live is harder.

Seduced, the pursuit is over;

all that was has died and gone;

and now I am as you.
