Alumni NewsDuring the two weeks of 2016 Camp Subiaco, fifteen alumni volunteered their services as counselors, boat drivers, venue supervisors (e.g, Bill Schwartz ‘63 and Ron Kaufman ‘65 at riflery), lifeguards, director, and IT guru. Twenty-four Academy students and two incoming students served as staff mem-bers. Also, several parents and friends volunteered in various roles during the two weeks of Camp Subiaco. Many alumni brought their sons to one of the sessions of this year’s camp. Five grandsons of Jim Gehrig ‘60 enjoyed the first week of camp.
Todd Hensley ‘77 visited with his former French teacher, Br. Ephrem ‘60 in early June. Todd is the Vice-President of Business Development for Driver IQ. He has an MBA from Oklahoma City University in International Business. Todd indicated a recent fall resulted in the black eye.
Zach’01 and Pam Truemper welcomed new son, Wayne Patrick, to the world June 16, 2016. He seems to already take after his namesake, Wayne Holtmeier Jr. ‘01.
SEACOR Holdings Inc. recently announced that William C. (Bill) Long ‘84 has been appointed the Company’s Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, and Corporate Secretary. Long has over 20 years of business and legal experience with publicly-traded companies. Long holds a Juris Doctorate degree, a Masters of Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Houston.
Matthew LaFargue ’84, provides Michael Kors purses for various Abbey and Acade-my events. Matthew, originally a Dewitt, AR, native, graduated from Hendrix College in Conway, AR, then moved to Connecticut and New York City where he worked at Macy’s and presently for Michael Kors. On a recent visit to Subiaco, he presented a purse to Christina Stengel, representing Subiaco’s Development Department.
Riley Bock ‘70, a retired lawyer, retired educator, and presently doing research on the Trail of Tears, visited with several monks in late June.
Cody Wright ‘05 is pursuing a doctorate in chemistry at Wollongong University in Australia. Academy art teacher Bill Wright and wife Lynn recently visited son Cody in Australia.
Ian ‘05 and Whitney Myers welcomed a new arrival Willow Austa into the world on June 29

Grandparent’s Day will be held Monday, September 12, 2016 at Subiaco Academy. Grandparents of our students are invited to spend the day on campus and participate in Mass, share lunch with their grandson, enjoy an informal campus tour, and visit with administration, faculty and staff.
