    ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE TRITON STORIES

In the ‘80s, Dr. Datta spent hours in his professor’s office discussing international relations issues of the time such as the Cold War and China’s burgeoning economic transformation. The drive for a deeper understanding inspired Datta to complete his doctorate in political science and become an educator. For more than two decades, he has inspired students to follow their interests, invite questions, investigate, and make an impact on campus, in the community, and beyond.

“I had a mentor who pushed me to go more deeply into things, encouraged me to move forward and follow my interests, and that, in a way, circles back to this interest I have in helping students

    to do the same.”

Robin Datta, Ph.D.Political Science Department head, Honors Program director
