Life without a Guru is like a house without a roof

When we realize that we are in need for help… We learn how to pray and cry out for help. We start looking for a master of the

situation. We look for the answer to find the root of

our problem. We are ready to accept some discipline to

prepare us to understand the solution. We become ready to accept to be a student.

Page 3: The Spiritual Master

Life without a Guru is like a house without a roof

3

Countless evidents life gives us to proove that fact. In all materials fields of knowledge masters

appear who know the inside of their subject. We learn practically everything in life from

some kind of master. Even those who try to rely on their own

capacity cannot avoid to use the instuments they received from previous masters in the language, home, school and life etc.

Page 4: The Spiritual Master

Life without a Guru is like a house without a roof

4

What happened before we were born or after we die ? Why are we here and what shall we do? What is real freedom and happiness? What gives life to this body made of chemicals? What is the true relationship between our creator

and us? What are our duties here? What is good and bad? How to control our mundane mind? How to get out of the world of sufferings? How to find the right way at all moments.

Page 5: The Spiritual Master

Life without a Guru is like a house without a roof

5

Countless questions of this nature come towards all of us almost every day. But where is the answer? Schools and Universities and even science

simply denie to talk about it or give some wild speculation as an answer.

Military and other powers consider those questions subversive and dangerous.

Being insecure, those without any answer create thouthands of pretexts to justify their ignorance towards this inquirry.

Page 6: The Spiritual Master

Life without a Guru is like a house without a roof

6

It is Your own duty to find the answers! Athato Brahma Jijnasa- the human form of

life is meant to inquirre about the truth and realize the truth.

You cannot do that duty for others nor can they do it for you.

Selfrealization is an absolutly personal issue.

Ignorance does not protect us from the reactions of our mistaken behaviour.

Page 7: The Spiritual Master

Life without a Guru is like a house without a roof

7

That is the reason why we need a spiritual Master. Someone who knows the truth. Someone who is firm in the truth and

compasioned with all. Someone who will not let you ever down or cheat

you in any way. Someone who is self realized. Someone who known and loves God. Someone who has himself a spiritual master and is

his bone fide representative.

It is a fashion today to accept experts as “Gurus” Marketing Guru, Fashion Guru, Health

Guru, Exercise Guru- Guru means heavy – heavy in

transcendental knowledge and realisation Another meaning is Gu- darkness and ru- to

pull you out. While fabricated “Gurus” only increase

your illusion a real Guru will save you from illusion-Maya-, that which is not real.

Page 9: The Spiritual Master

Life without a Guru is like a house without a roof

9

There is one truth but many Gurus! One creator , one

current but many outlets.

The form is always depending on the substance. Any “Guru” who deviates from that truth is exposed as a fake.

Follow the Guru who resides in your heart.

Consult with the holy scriptures.

Councel with real Sadhus and Yogis whose life is examplary.

Consult the teachings of the masters in the iniciation school.

The Guru teaches his students according to their level of understanding. Sambandha Jnana = The knowledge of the relationship between

15

So called Gurus only serve the lower goals of conditioned souls. To go to heavenly

planets. To get mystic powers. To improove your

health. To have the prestige of

having a Guru. How to enjoy the

senses in the name of yoga.

To make money by teaching others Yoga.

Even if a student has all these desires still it is recomanded that he should practise Bhakti Yoga and thus all desires who obstruct his path will be removed.

Our Guru is our father, mother, friend and wellwisher. A disciple should see his

Guru as Gods representative.

We can reveal our mind to him.

We are accountable to him. He will give us our service to God.

Through him we belong to a spiritual family.

Through the mantra we become his child and are considered twice born.

Accepting a Guru is Accepting a Guru is a personal choice of a personal choice of our heart and our heart and should not be done should not be done as a social function as a social function or influenced by or influenced by eclesiastic tradition.eclesiastic tradition.

A real disciple is blessed by causeless knowledge and detachment.

He stricly follows the vows of initiation.

He is vegetarian, celibat or chaste in his marriage, free of intoxication and free of gambling.

He does not collect money for egotistic sake and councels with his guardian any important decision.

Krishna will make him an instrument of his love.

Page 22: The Spiritual Master

22

Krishna himself confirms the importance of a spiritual master.Bhagavat Gita 4-34Tat vidhi pranipatena pariprasnena sevayaupadeksyanti te jnanamjnaninas tattva darsinah

If you want to know the truth you have to search for a spiritual master. Offer obeisances to him, make relevant inquirreries and offer him sincere service. The selfrealized soul can teach you because he has seen the truth.

23

Impersonalist Gurus and others who teach partial or distorted truth. There are three levels of spiritual achievement. Brahman- Then impersonal effulgence of the

spiritual world and the Supreme Lord Paramatma- the Aspect of God in every persons

heart also known as the universal Supersoul. Bhagavan- The highest realm of Krishna where he

lives eternally with his pure devotees. Whoever does not teach these three aspects of

Vedic knowledge teaches only partial truth. Whoever denies any one of these three aspects

distorts the truth.

There is only one condition to become a spiritual Master. You have to know and practise the science

of Krishna. Kiba vipra Kibe nyasi sudra kena naya Sei Krishna tattva veta sei Guru haya Even if you are born in a family of outcasts

if you know the science of Krishna you can become s spiritual master, wheras an erudite Brahmana who is not a surrendered soul to Krishna cannot become a spiritual master.

The deeper the vision of a devotee the more he can see. Initially he sees the Guru as good as God. Sri Nityananda as the original Guru and the

Paramatma Chaitya Guru as the inner guide. Later he sees that his Guru is an intemate

servant of God. Later he sees that the Guru is eternal servant

of Srimati Radharani and representative of her. Ashraya Vigraha.

Then he can understand the…

Gurus who guide us to discover our spiritual bodies. Srila Rupa Goswami is

a confidential servant of the Lord and all the Vaisnavas.

Let me finish this presentation offering my prostrated dandavats at the Lotusfeet of my spiritual master Srila Prabhupada. He and my other Siksa Gurus have kindly helped me to survive all these years in the beautiful company of Vaisnavas. They are entitled to do with me what they like. I simply pray for their mercy. Whatever useful thing I may have been able to do it is his rightful claim of credit. Let his teachings be victorious for all humanity to benefit. He is the messanger of love divine. The benefits of taking shelter in his instructions gives you much more then you may imagine in your wildest dreams. A pure devotee of the Lord Krishna can give you even entrance into the spiritual world. But you have to take a one way ticket only. OM TAT SAT
