We have always applied strict criteria in our selection of potential new stallions. As well as

possessing an attractive pedigree and a high-level of racing ability, they must also have proved their

soundness and versatility over several seasons. We want commercial breeders to feel confident a

Bearstone stallion will give them an excellent chance of producing sound and attractive stock that

will appeal to a demanding market. I am confident that our current roster of young stallions will do

just that.

Our most recent acquisition is WASHINGTON DC. The Coolmore partners paid €340,000 for him

as a yearling and he quickly vindicated their judgement by winning the Windsor Castle Stakes at

Royal Ascot. He raced at Group 1 level for four seasons and went very close in the Prix de

L’Abbaye. Victory there would undoubtedly have seen him standing at a much higher fee at a

famous Irish stud! His own sire Zoffany made a tremendous impact with his first crop, which

included three Royal Ascot juvenile winners. It will not have escaped your notice that he has enjoyed

another splendid season; only Galileo has sired more juvenile stakes winners at the time of writing.

FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH, a son of Pretty Pollyanna’s sire Oasis Dream, is another graduate of the

renowned Ballydoyle academy. He cost 420,000 gns as a yearling and it is very heartening to see

his first yearlings receiving such a positive reception at the sales. We eagerly await his first runners

next year. Many of them will be trained by some of the most successful trainers of two-year-olds in

the country, giving him every chance of a fast start next spring.Bearstone Stud continues to be a rich source of winners. Since 1994, we have bred the winners of

768 races, including several Group 1 successes and a champion juvenile.

We pride ourselves on offering breeders a professional and friendly first-class service. We welcome
