Together with Curro schools across the country, they have proactively made use of their 3D printing and laser cutting learning tools to create face shields for our frontline medical professionals and essential services workers. So far, more than 7 000 of these face shields have been distributed throughout South Africa. That gets an A+ in our books! So now that Covid-19 has changed the way we do pretty much everything, we’ve put together a little snapshot of what the future holds (loving those sunglasses…). Travel & airlines: Redesigning airline seat configurations and new food packaging. UV light ‘robots’ to disinfect hotel rooms. Restaurants: Installing glass screens or compartments between patrons. ‘Table for two’ inside a closed booth (perfect for a first date!). Fashion: Sunglasses with integrated face shields. Office meetings: Plexiglass compartments around a boardroom table. Dentistry: Protective shields with arm access. Plus we’re sure to see big changes in contactless payments, the purchasing of e-bikes and a general adoption of healthier lifestyles. Watch this space!
