the list during the last month bring thetotal of living Life Members to 360 . Allthree, incidentally, came from Seminole .Two of the three are a Sooner couple

--Mr . and Mrs. Jack I . Laudermilk ofSeminole. Mr. Laudermilk, who receiveda bachelor's degree in 1934 and an en-gineering degree in 1938, is a petroleumengineer for the Gulf Oil Corporation .Mrs. Laudermilk is the former Mary

G ittings, '351ib .sci . They have a son,John Irwin, Jr., who will be two yearsold in November .

In sending a check for initial paymenton a Life Membership, Mr. Laudermilkwrote : "We have planned on becomingLife Members for some time but due tothe press of everyday affairs have neglec-ted doing so before now . tuition and other fees to be paid by thestudents, but would provide that all stu-dents resident of Oklahoma with fresh-man or sophomore classification wouldpay an incidental fee of not less than $15a semester, and all other students residentof Oklahoma would pay not less than $25a semester .

The bill would require all state edu-cational institutions to charge a minimumnon-resident fee, which would be not lessthan $50 per semester for institutionshaving an enrolment of 3,000 or morestudents, and $25 per semester for in-stitutions having an enrolment of lessthan 3,000 .

It was proposed that institutions bepermitted to make rules for waiving orrefunding fees to students maintaininghigh scholarship, or to those who, main-taining satisfactory scholarship, are inneed of financial assistance, provided thatnot to exceed five per cent of the totalstudents enrolled might have their tuitionwaived or refunded .

The committee believed that provisionssuch as those outlined above would tendto prevent any one institution or anygroup of schools from gaining unreason-able advantage because of differences infees .A tuition fee system by which the

amount charged would be based on acertain amount per credit hour also hasbeen considered .
