The Snowman Rush
Prepare:
Print page 2 and onwards (laminate if possible).
Cut out the snowmen.
Blank snowmen have been included in case you’d like to add in any extra words.
To play:
Place the word family ‘home boards’ (pages 24-46) side by side. Mix up and
spread the snowmen out around the outside of the ‘home boards’.
Say:
“The snowmen have been out playing in the snow. Now the sun’s coming out
and it’s starting to heat up. It’s time to get them back to their homes. Match the
snowmen to their correct word family home and make sure you say each word
before you move it.”
Once all of the snowmen are back to their correct ‘home boards’, have your
child read each of the words again.
*Stick the snowmen to their ‘home boards’ and hang as posters!
