Commercial ModelThe SME EFSS Cloud Appliance is made available to Service Providers in two ways:

1. Software Appliance

A virtual software platform is provided for use by a Service Provider hosted within their own infrastructure. In this option platform availability and failover is directly managed by the Service Provider.

2. Managed Service

A Hosted service is provided for dedicated use by Service Providers. In this option, the entire platform is hosted and managed by SME.

Both models share the following key attributes:

• White label branding ‘powered by SME’

• Dedicated control panel and configurability

• Configurable business packages

• Support for Service Provider’s ‘own in-house storage’

• Support for specified public Clouds (45+ supported)

• Sophisticated Web File Manager

• Desktop Cloud tooling for Linux, Mac, Windows (brand as own)

• Mobile cloud tooling for BlackBerry, Android, iOS, Windows Phone (brand as own)

• Options to integrate into Service Provider client management systems (Billing, CRM, Support)..

• Open API to provide for integration to other systems or Clouds required (10-15 days required to integrate new Cloud. Cloud to be integrated requires API)

WHAT IS THE CLOUD APPLIANCE ?

The SME Cloud Appliance is an Enterprise File Share and Sync

software platform that enables c o m p a n i e s t o c r e a t e a

compelling and differentiated

storage or ‘Cloud’ proposition through the use of their existing

Storage Platform or using any of the 45+ Clouds supported by

the Appliance.

The Platform is a multi-tenant solution that works with existing

storage clouds, or can be used with newly added storage clouds

such as OpenStack Swift, or

EMC Atmos, for example. It can quickly be configured to support

individual consumer, or business propositions, that a company can

define and customize.

The Platform consists of a Cloud App l i a n ce , s upp l i e d a s a

integrated with over 45 storage

Clouds and which features meta-data technology that stores

information about files that are hosted on one or more storage

platforms.

The Platform quickly enables access and integration points

that encompass all variety of operating systems, and all major

mobile and tablet vendors.


Implicit in both options is for the Service Provider is the the choice to self manage the platform or not. It should of course also be pointed out that the Software Appliance would typically be hosted within the Service Provider Data Centre and hence would sit behind their firewall. For obvious technical reasons, the opportunity for tight and sophisticated integration to other hosted services and/or client control panels is available through this variant of the platform

Commercial Packages Summary:

The proposed commercial partnership for both platforms is driven by a business model, which is underpinned by the desire of SME to partner with a Service Provider and help grow both revenue and profitability:

• Tiered Pricing model in which commitment for higher volume is rewarded with lower per user pricing

• Sales volume rewarded with a greater share of the marginal unit revenue per customer

Driving mutual monetisation:

The key attributes which will drive revenue are as follows:

• Service Provider creating core business or consumer packages (configurable using SME control panel) to be purchased by their customer based

• Branded Desktop tooling

• Branded Mobile tooling

All three of the above can be billed as a part of single customer package or can be broken out and sold separately. All three are available on a recurring revenue model or with the option to pre-pay for a year or longer in advance with the flexibility on the commitment to volume for each element.

The Storage Made Easy Enterprise File Share and Sync (EFSS) Solution

The Storage Made Easy EFSS solution is storage agnostic and can be used as an Enterprise

File Share and sync solution with one or more public or private storage clouds.

The solution allows IT to regain control of "cloud data sprawl" by unifying private / public

company data and privately used employee cloud data solutions into a single converged

infrastructure. This can easily be managed and be used to set and enforce governance and
