Our annual offering of the SIFAS Festival of Indian Classical Music and Dance is changing. This year, we will host our own SIFAS dance production and the Visual Arts will be a part of the event. Renamed as the SIFAS Festival of Classical Indian Music, Dance & Arts 2018, it will be held from 16 March – 8 April 2018. Held concurrently at the SIFAS Auditorium and Esplanade, the Festival is a presentation of talent, not just from SIFAS, but from all of Singapore’s premiere institutes and freelance performers along with some wonderful artistes from India. It is the only Festival which creates a platform to give our homegrown talent the well-deserved opportunity to present their talent at a common platform. This year, for the first time, SIFAS will also present a show conceived and set to music by a team of professionals under the aegis of Dr. Pappu Venugopala Rao and Dr Sriram Parasuram, and choreographed by our own Gurus. PRAKRITI VIKRITI, will bring together over 35 senior students, alumni, musicians and gurus from SIFAS & India and will be performed at the Esplanade Studio on 17 & 18 March 2018. The Festival’s offering from the Indian shores will showcase the highly accomplished artistes Ranjanii-Gayatri, Sanjeev Abhyankar and Kala Ramnath. The Festival will also feature a rare South Indian Guitar Solo by Prasanna who will team up with percussion stalwarts "Ghatam Karthik" and Prapancham Ravindran. This year, SIFAS grounds will create an atmosphere of a Mela with food from the different regions, workshops and displays by the Visual Arts Academy. It wil present a full range of programmes every day for for the 24 days of the Kalavaibham Festival. The Festival has been possible only due to the support and generosity of individuals like yourself, who have been a well-wisher and supporter of the Indian Arts in general and SIFAS in particular. SIFAS FUND RAISING GIVE to SIFAS • SIFAS PERFORMERS DIRECT SPONSORSHIP SIFAS welcomes direct sponsorships of Performing artistes during the SIFAS FESTIVAL and KALAVAIBHAVAM Fesival as well as around the year for the ongoing performances on The SIFAS STGAE. • SIFAS DEVELOPMENT FUND The Cultural Matching Fund (CMF) is a fund set up by the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth to provide dollar-for-dollar (1:1) matching grants for private cash donations to arts and heritage charities and Institutes of Public Character. All donations to SIFAS will be eligible for dollar-for-dollar matching from CMF.
