The Sealy Community Foundation is hard at work organizing this year’s Sealybration. Kicking off Friday, July 12, the 2019 Sealybration promises to be another great event! We haven’t revealed our full lineup yet, but rest assured, it is unlike anything we’ve ever done before … and will reach audiences we’ve never reached! Last year, we held our first-ever Friday night Noche de Fiesta, featuring two regional Mexican bands. It was a huge success. This year, we’re bringing it back … with even bigger artists for 2019. With the help of The Sealy News and Saddleback Saloon, we recently hosted our first-ever Sound-Off to Sealybration, a battle of the bands completion, featuring local talent. We had 15 performers compete over two months and the win-ner will take home a cash prize AND get a spot on Saturday night’s Sealybration lineup! The Sealybration weekend starts with our famous BBQ cook-off, and last year, we got it IBCA Sanctioned. This means more teams, and more prize money! Also on Friday we host the returning Noche de Fiesta featuring regional Mexican music, and the annual 5-Alarm 5K, benefiting the Sealy Fire Department. Other weekend activities include a carnival, beanbag tournament, children’s activities, and dozens of specialty, craft and food booths. All of this is capped off with an awesome fireworks display Saturday night and our legendary VIP Experience! We also host the Annual Stars & Strikes Classic softball tournament. Held all weekend, it is the largest of its type: the largest All Star Softball Tournament in the State of Texas! The tournament hosts seven age divisions and pulls teams from all over Texas. One year, the Stars & Strikes Classic welcomed 98 teams from 38 Texas cities! The Sealy Community Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of education opportunities and other non-profit charities, the events of Sealybration are operated through local adult and youth organizations. All money and proceeds collected are then distributed back into Austin County through scholarships and donations. Sealybration is our biggest fundraiser of the year, drawing more than 12,000 guests. It just keeps getting bigger … and we continue to get better at hosting it! It is our belief that we can have fun, bring our community together, and give back at the same time. This belief is the spirit of the community we love so much and have committed to support. Please review the following information provided in this letter and don’t hesitate to contact us with any needs or ques-tions. See you in July! Friday's Noche de Fiesta In 2018 we held our first Noche de Fiesta, featuring Regional Mexican music and received rave reviews. (Regional Mexican is the most popular Latin music genre in the country and includes banda and norteño.) With a very diverse demographic making up Austin County, it was time to include music that represented all of our community. We had a really impres-sive level of talent in our first year, and Sealybration plans an even bigger event for 2019. The Barbeque Cook-off A Sealybration tradition, our barbeque cookoff has a longstanding of history of excellence … and is a party like no other! With more than 50 teams, the event delivers cash prizes, delicious food, top-notch judging and a really, really good time. And, in 2018, we became IBCA-Sanctioned. So, we have even more teams and even bigger cash prizes. The Sealy Community Foundation Sealybration is organized by the Sealy Community Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of educational opportunities and non-profit charities. All events are sponsored by, and operated through, local non-profit organizations. All money and proceeds collected by Sealybration are distributed back into Austin County.
