• The present installed generation capacity including

captive power: 16,046 MW(310.4 kWh/capita)

• Only 62.4% of the population have access to electricity

• 2/3rd of the population live in rural areas

• 51.4% of them have access to the electric grid

• Bangladesh’s primary energy consumption was mainly

natural gas (21.2 Mtoe) and oil (5.7 Mtoe)
