• All of which helped Rome’s rise to power

Empire at its height – when it had the most power and

land – to the year 117 AD.

• What can we notice about Rome’s geographical location?

Where is it located in Europe? How do you think it helped

Homework

• Lesson 1: Introduction to The Roman Empire 01/09/2014

• You will create a map of The Roman Empire at its height (117/120 Ad/CE) and include the names of the countries as they were known then & now (if they are the same, write same)

- You must include at 10 countries

- You can decorate your map in any manner that you want

• Research how many people inhabited the city Rome in 117/120 Ad/CE and create a list of the 5 other most populated cities of that time that includes the populations of each city (the number of inhabitants)

• You will be given poster size paper

• Be sure to include your full name on the backs of your maps

• Due date: by our next class on Thursday, Jan. 23rd
