and

St. Ann Mission Statement: St. Ann Church is a community of faith within the Roman Catholic tradition. Through celebra-

tion of Eucharist and participation in the Sacraments we seek to live our lives as a welcoming family that strives to make

known the living presence of Jesus Christ in the ministry of our everyday lives. Empowered through the word of God we rec-

ognize the call to serve as the defining mark of our community. Personal involvement through participation in one or more of

the ministries to serve the needs of our parish family and local community is invited and encouraged. The Family Center is an

extension of St. Ann Church as a place of welcome and renewal where we strengthen the bonds of community and work to-

gether for the building of the Kingdom of God.

St. Patrick Mission Statement: The mission of St. Patrick Church is to respond faithfully to God’s call as a Roman Catholic

Community. The celebration of Eucharist and the Sacraments are central to our parish life. We seek to care for one another

and to reach out to those members of our community who are in need.

MARY FARM ANNUAL DAY OF RETREAT

On Saturday, Aug. 15, from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m., The

Apostolate for the Suffering will conduct its annual Day of

Retreat at Mary Farm, 1915 Ware St., Palmer, MA.

Guest speakers include Jean Raczkowski and Barbara

Morin. A donation of $18 per person is suggested to help

defray the expenses, which include lunch.

This retreat is by reservation only. To register or for

questions, please call Br. Bob at Mary Farm at 413-283-

4529.

Dear St. Patrick Parishioners — Like me, I am sure you

have noticed the patches of paint that are appearing on the

ceiling of the church. These patches seem to be multiplying

and may give you the idea that we have a leaky roof. Upon

inspection, our church roof is not leaking, however, we do

seem to have an issue that I and a local painting firm are

addressing.

As I have often said, when it comes to the church, the

rectory, or the parish center, it’s always something and I am

working on “this something” to correct the problem. I’ll

keep you posted on this as the summer progresses.

-Fr. C.J.

Aug. 15th-The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

While The Assumption of Mary is a Holy Day, this year

it falls on a Saturday, so is not a Holy Day of Obligation.

There will be no special liturgies for this Holy Day, our

Short Excerpts

Taken from Pope Francis’ Addresses And Homilies

HE SEEKS US

Adam, after his sin, experiences shame; he feels naked,

he senses the weight of what he has done, and yet God

does not abandon him. If that moment of sin marks the

beginning of his exile from God, there is already a promise

of return, a possibility of return. God immediately asks,

“Adam, where are you?” He seeks him out.

This excerpt was taken from the book, “Pope Francis

Speaks to Our Hearts, Words of Challenge and Hope” by

the Word Among Us.
