Conference 9 November 2018 e Role of Soſt Law in International Commercial Law Invitation On the occasion of the 25th CISG Advisory Council meeting, Aalborg University’s research group on private law invites legal scholars, practitioners, adjudicators, and students to participate at a conference concerning the role of soſt law in international commercial law. e conference is hosted by the Department of Law at Aalborg University in collaboration with INTRAlaw research center at Aarhus University and the CISG Advisory Council. e conference is kindly sponsored by Dreyers Fond and NEAS Energy A/S. Conference theme and purpose e theme of the conference is the role of soſt law in international commercial law. e purpose is to explore, reveal and discuss the legitimacy, definition, role, and impact of instruments that may be classified as soſt law. With the purpose of providing attendees with the latest knowledge on the theme the CISG Advisory Council, which consists of the most prominent scholars and practitioners in international commercial law, have been invited to address the theme in this open conference. e conference consists of four sessions. See the attached program for details. Call for papers In combination with the conference the Nordic Journal of Commercial Law will publish a special issue on soſt law in international commercial law. Everybody who complies with the form requirements are welcome to submit a paper for consideration to the journal. See www.njcl.dk for details. e journal is open access and double-blind peer reviewed and free for authors to publish in. Target group e conference theme is relevant to legal practitioners engaged in international commercial activities, judges and arbitrators who adjudicate international commercial disputes, for business associations advising internationally traders, domestic or international authorities who are involved draſting or interpretation of legislation, academics in the field of commercial law, and master students with an interest in international commercial law. Certificate of participation Participation is free of charge. It is possible to obtain a certificate of participation (DKK 975,- fee applicable). e certificate confirms that participation corresponds to 6 lectures of 45 minutes and complies with the formal requirements of e Danish Bar and Law Society.
