The Center for Protected Area Management and Rocky Mountain National Park present: TYRUS MCLACHLAN: Forestry Intern Come enjoy FREE FOOD while learning about this amazing internship opportunity! Tyrus will provide an overview of his experience as a Forestry Intern at Rocky Mountain National Park, highlighting the diverse foundation of skills that he gained during the internship. TYRUS is an undergraduate Watershed Science student at CSU. Throughout his academic career, he has developed a passion for the dynamics of a watershed as a system, specifically regarding post-fire effects and the influence that forest ecology has on water availability. Andrew will present about the daily tasks of being a Wilderness Ranger in Rocky Mountain National Park. He will cover what a typical 4-day patrol looked like and highlight some of the special tasks he completed. ANDREW is studying Ecosystem Science and Sustainability and Geography at CSU with the hopes of holding a future career in the outdoor industry. He believes that any time spent outside is time well spent, especially time playing around in the mountains. Joseph will present about his experience working with the park’s museum collection and archive. He will explore different aspects of curating the collection from maintaining a database to organizing concessions and photographing artifacts. JOSEPH is a a second year graduate student in the history program (museums track). He hopes to work in a history museum managing collections and designing exhibits.
