Our vision for this project is to create a vibrant and iconic destination that interprets the calm yet dynamic nature of the Brisbane River. Guided by Brookfield Residential Properties’ concept of a unified and connected riverside neighbourhood, we have endeavoured to create residences that will shape the character and unique identity that is Riverfront Hamilton.

The overall design aesthetic adopts a free flowing organic approach, with a greater use of glass, portraying a softer, lighter and transparent built form. The building will reflect its surroundings, creating a dialogue with the natural beauty of the river, the dynamic neighbourhood and the mountain range beyond.

The spirit of Gallery House has been captured in a series of artworks commissioned exclusively for the project. New York based Australian artist Sam Chirnside is amongst a new wave of emerging artists blurring the lines between physical and digital practice.

“The art series for Gallery House was inspired by topographical aerial views of land formations that have been altered by natural elements. Exploring organic flows that have similar aesthetic to gestures of paint.

Each artwork explores different natural elements, from the fluidity of water flow, to the changes of land mass over time. The artworks reflect varying textures, colours and layering to evoke a sense of evolution, reminiscent of the development of the natural world through time.

The interplay of layering in the art series encourages viewers to focus on each stroke, building dimension and volume through the manipulation of colour and texture. It is through this technique that we are able to distinguish that there are multiple textural surfaces within each piece.

My art is an exploration of order and incomprehension. Searching for further meaning through techniques of abstraction and experimentation.”
