THE RINGLING BROTHERS

The Ringling brothers were born in McGregor, Iowa. They were a very poor family. In 1869, the brothers had their first circus. It was a penny to watch the circus. They had kittens, dogs, and cats in their circus. The circus was in a barn.
Childhood
In the late 1800s, Al Ringling started doing hall shows to earn money for a circus. His hall shows had music, comedy, short plays, and dances. They moved town to town by train.
Young Adult
The Ringling brothers then had enough money to buy a circus, so they bought one. Their circus was so big, they called all of their tents, Ringlingville. Each brother had their own job. The Ringling brothers loved to have animals. They had forty elephants. in the winter, they went to Baraboo, Wisconsin.

Death
In 1967, the circus joined Barnum & Bailey “The Greatest Show on Earth.” Then it became The Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus, The Greatest Show on Earth.
