• Prevent build-up

• Remove soils like oil and grease

• Maximize appearance

Emulsification

Ability to break particles of soil down into smaller particles.

There are 3 major myths when it comes to concrete cleaning:

Concrete Floors Are

Maintenance Free

Cleaning With Water

Is Good Enough

Use ANeutral pH

Cleaner

Page 13: The Right Cleaner for Your CONCRETE FLOORS

RIGHT DECISIONCLEANING RIGHT CLEANER

Concrete floors require NO maintenance.

“Cleaning” with water is acceptable.

Washing and cleaning mean the same thing.

Concrete floors are LOW maintenance, not NO maintenance.

Water cannot “lift and hold” soil out of concrete pores; CreteClean Plus provides penetration, emulsification and suspension.

All floor cleaners work the same.CreteClean Plus is designed to clean concrete floors; general cleaners can harm concrete

Washing is done with water, while cleaning is done with a cleaner.

The pH of a floor cleaner doesn’t matter.

A floor cleaner’s pH should be similar to that of cured concrete; approximately 9-10. Even a neutral cleaner with a pH of 7 is too acidic for cleaning concrete.

Dispelling Concrete Cleaning Myths

Page 14: The Right Cleaner for Your CONCRETE FLOORS

RIGHT DECISIONCLEANING RIGHT CLEANER

Not All Cleaners are Created EqualIs Your Cleaner Doing More Harm Than Good?

is your cleaner

safefor concrete?

Your cleaner may be unsafe if it:

Contains Acids, Hydroxides or SulfatesConcrete is sensitive to acid which can lead to etching and staining. Sulfides and hydroxides will eventually soften concrete.

Has a pH level ABOVE or BELOW 9-10

A safe concrete cleaner is not neutral (7), but rather similar to the pH of cured/aged concrete (9-10). An overly acidic or basic cleaner can etch concrete.

Polar Micelles“Lift & Hold” Technology

CreteClean Plus with Scar Guard™ utilizes Polar Micelle

Technology. Soap molecules penetrate the floor surface and

emulsify oil and dirt into smaller particles. The soap molecules

then completely surround the oil or dirt molecule, creating a

micelle. The micelle attaches itself to water molecules and is held

in suspension, then carried away in the rinse water.

DIRT It’s a big deal.At first thought, dirt is just dirt. And dirt on a floor is just dirty. But on a concrete floor, it is so much more than that.

Dirt is one of the main contributing factors to a dull concrete

floor. The soil and grit tracked in from the outside act as an

abrasive medium, similar to that of 200-grit sandpaper, which

scratches and effectively deteriorates the attractive sheen on

your concrete floor.

Test Parameters• One continuous piece of polished concrete divided into 3 zones. Area received little to no traffic and received periodic cleaning.

• Cleaned using a brand new auto scrubber.

• Each zone cleaned twice with the proper amount of drying time in between.

• After each cleaning, the auto scrubber waste water was collected and bottled.

• The auto scrubber tank, pads, filter, etc. were thoroughly cleaned each time before switching to the next cleaning agent.

The Right Cleaner Matters How CreteClean Plus stacks up against water and a neutral cleaner.

Test ResultsNotice the significant amount of dirt collected when cleaned with CreteClean Plus - especially on the second cleaning after water and a neutral cleaner had already been used. In Zone 3, CreteClean Plus picked up almost all of the dirt and soil on the first cleaning, leaving barely any dirt and soil to be cleaned up on the second cleaning.

CreteClean Plus is the ONLY cleaner for the job.

• Floors should be cleaned, not rinsed.

• CreteClean Plus is a “one pass” cleaner as shown in Zone 3 of the cleaning trial.

• After cleaning with water-only and a neutral cleaner (Zones 1 & 2), CreteClean Plus still picked up more soil on the second pass.

• By removing soil, more Ashford Formula and RetroPlate can be absorbed into the floor.

• The more product you have in the floor, the more Calcium Silicate Hydrate (CSH) can be produced.

• CreteClean Plus is designed with the same backbone as Ashford Formula, RetroPlate and KickStart.

• CreteClean Plus works well on all hard floor surfaces.

Your INSURANCE POLICYProper concrete cleaning before and after densification is your insurance policy to a long-lasting, well-performing, low life cycle cost floor. Consider the cost of densifying and polishing your floor, compare to the additional cost to PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT.
