The Revitalization Tonya Steger & Assoc. Prof. Gayle Williamson Robert L. Lewis Academy of Scholars – AY 2012-2013 Cuyahoga Community College, Cleveland, Ohio PROJECT SUMMARY A Community Project for the Residents and Businesses within the City of East Cleveland to get involved in a Community clean-up day An attempt to revitalize and restore a once thriving community Project was chosen as an effort to bring a community together and take pride in where we reside The project will help to exemplify the need for residents to take charge and make change INTRODUCTION The community clean-up day within the City of East Cleveland shall be initiated to bring a community together as well as empower residents to take the appearance of our neighborhood as a civic duty. The city is now making efforts to condemn abandoned homes and restore some buildings to revitalize the neighborhood. However, to restore a community can not rest solely on government. The residents within the city must also have a vision and a goal to help redefine our community. I chose this project because as a resident of East Cleveland I want be proud of my community. As I stand as one resident with a voice to be heard we can all come together to revive a city so once deserved.
