The Recreation Department is responsible for operating five waterfronts in Plymouth, two ocean beaches and three ponds. Each area is unique and may have its own set of rules. Here is information to help you better understand a few of our policies. Town of Plymouth beaches and ponds are open weekends only starting Memorial Day Weekend. Beaches and ponds are open 7 days a week starting Monday, June 27th. During this time, all beaches and ponds operated by the Town of Plymouth Recreation Department will be staffed by lifeguards. Hours of Operation: 9:00am - 5:00pm Parking Fees will be collected at: Plymouth Beach, Morton Park, Fresh Pond and Hedges Pond Resident Beach Parking Stickers and 4X4 Stickers can be purchased in the Collector's Office in Town Hall. (For additional information regarding stickers, please call 508-747-1620 Ext 291.) Parking fees apply to ALL vehicles without a sticker. The Recreation Department operates the following beaches and ponds in Plymouth: PLYMOUTH BEACH: 130 Warren Avenue This is a very popular spot for both locals and tourists Restrooms available Concession stand Parking available MORTON PARK: 35 Summer Street Morton Park is a scenic recreation area. It attracts people from all over Massachusetts. The Recreation Department holds swimming lessons here during the week. Restrooms available NO Concession stand Parking Available Small boat launch WHITE HORSE BEACH: Taylor Avenue This is a beautiful open-water crescent beach. Only about 560 feet of Whitehorse is supervised by the Recreation Department. There are 5 bouys located off the guarded beach area. They are to keep all boats and jet skis out of the area. NO Restrooms NO Concession stand Limited Parking Available at the "Taylor Ave Lot" FRESH POND: 220 Bartlett Road Fresh Pond is a quaint little neighborhood pond. The Recreation Department holds swimming lessons here during the week. Restrooms available NO Concession stand Parking available Small boat launch HEDGES POND: Hedges Pond Road *tentatively scheduled to open the end of June 2011 Restrooms available Parking available PLYMOUTH LONG BEACH is open to Plymouth residents with a 4X4 beach sticker ON LY. The Recreation Department DOES NOT operate this beach and there are NO LIFEGUARDS. The status of parking availability at Plymouth Long Beach is determined on a daily basis by the Environmental Management Department. For additional information call 508-747-1620 Ext 201. PLEASE NOTE: There are NO Restrooms or Concession Stand available on Plymouth Long Beach!!!
