As an example, a credit score of 620 or belowwould mean that the person looking to borrowwould be categorized as a "sub-prime"borrower, whereas a credit score of 720 wouldmean that the borrower would be eligible formore favorable loan conditions.

Here are some simple tips to repair your creditscore:

1. Get a credit card from amajor company.Before you go crazy, it is important to note thatusing a credit card and keeping a balance onone are two totally different matters. Runningup a bill that you don't pay in full won't help youbuild credit. That being said, this tip takesdiscipline, but it's an easy way to improve a poorcredit score if you pay your card off monthly.We suggest using it for things like gas that youwill pay off on a monthly basis.

2. Get a prepaid credit card.If you don't trust yourself to use a credit cardwisely or just don't want one, then you shouldget a prepaid credit card. This gives you a wayto use a credit card without the temptation of

running up debt. This will only allow you tospend the amount you have placed on the cardand no more.

3. Be patient.Although it is difficult, it's important that youunderstand the process of repairing you creditwon't happen overnight. Slow and steady winsthe race when it comes to your credit score.

4. Check your credit score.It is very important that you understand thatyour credit report is accurate. So, checking thethree credit bureaus on a regular basis is wise.These include Equifax, Experian andTransUnion. You want to know if anythingincorrect is on your credit report so you can fixthe situation before it damages your credit.

Myth #4: You need perfect credit.Most people assume that you must haveabsolutely golden credit in order to get a loan,but that just simply isn’t the case. If buyers haveless than perfect credit, lenders are often willingto work with them to get the best possible loan.

Credit is not the only thing that lenders look atwhen deciding to approve a loan, but your scorewill have an effect on the interest rate on yourmortgage.
