It’s great to see everyone out at the field having fun. On a totally different note, below is a pic of the lunar eclipse back in October. I guess I was curious with all the talk of the blood moon so I wanted to see it. Yep I got up a 5 am and checked it out. What do you know, it was red. I tried to get a good pic but I don’t have one of those fancy cameras with a huge lens. It was worth getting up for. At the last meeting the club voted to hold the JSC RC 50 th Celebration at the Gilruth Alamo Ballroom on December 11 th . The vote also included keeping cost to $10 a person with the club subsidizing the remaining portion. So please get your RSVP’s and payments to Kent prior to November 30th: Kent Stromberg 403 Lochnell Houston, Tx. 77062 281-480-0095 [email protected] So do not miss out on the fun. It seems the weather has been perfect for flying and the attendance at the field backs this up. It’s great to see everyone out at the field having fun. On a totally different note, below is a pic of the lunar eclipse back in October. I guess I was curious with all the talk of the blood moon so I wanted to see it. It was worth getting up for.

James demonstrated the capabilities. It was something else seeing the camera stay steady while the quad moved all over. Next is another great new gadget. Cecil is demonstrating his new radio which has telemetry and voice. He just installed his pitot tube and even demonstrated the speed of a common human puff. The radio even called out speed every designated time. The radio system is a Tauranis.

Next up was Tim White showing off some memorabilia of the old MSC and JSC club.

An old time instruction manual, the RCM Trainer and a flight manual.

Some old MSC stickers and AMA cards. I believe my oldest AMA card I have is 1990. Maybe we should all bring our old AMA cards to the 50th celebration event!!

The final Tim White pic is of his old foam wing cutter. It seems Don White and he used to cut foam wings. He even brought some of the old rib templates. MINUTES Minutes 10/9/2014 Old Business:

Voted to charge $10 per ticket for 50th celebration and the club to pay the rest, estimated at $10 per ticket

INPUT FROM THE NORTH by Bill Schwander

Got a note from Bill Schwander located in the frozen tundra. Looks like he is staying busy. Flew my Brooklyn Dodger yesterday here in Colorado. The weather was wonderful. Blue skies, 44º, and virtually no wind. A great day. During the past few months, Santa has been quite busy building ten Super Marine Spitfires for my special needs kids back in Texas. This has been a mission of mine for the past several years which I have enjoyed immensely. I would love to see each one of the club members locate a special needs kid and build one for them and deliver it during Christmas. Mine are mostly solid models. If there is any interest, I have many plans I would send, free of charge, to our members. The only thing I ask of the recipients is to get a photo of the

child with his plane. If you start in January, It won't interfere with your flying model building time. For more information' contact me via my email, [email protected]

WHATS UP AROUND THE CLUB by Michael Laible

Little bits and pieces of RC happenings around the area. Remember this coulmn is for everyone and everyone can contribute. Pictures and a few wrods can go a long way. OCTOBER FUN FLY So lets start with the fall fun fly. This pic below tells it all. One proud Houston Cougar with two balsa gliders. Dalton had one configured for rolls and one for loops.

A bomb drop. This is either Tom Altmeyer or James Lemon. It was a successful drop

The next I do remember. This is Dalton taking pride in his Dad’s fantastic second place drop.

This is a good one. It’s called the bob and weave. You have to taxi around the cones, take off, make a pattern, land and taxi through the cones. I think I mowed over all the cones!!

Joe having a grand time. When doesn’t he smile.

Alarm clock pylon. A lot of traffic up in the air.

Everyone having some lunch and a grand time.

Rene cooking up some dogs. It was a nice day and everyone had fun. We did have one RIP plane but I am sure a replacement is well on its way. Winners Bob N Weave

SOMETHING DIFFERENT

Dave Bacque twisting and turning his iPhone to control his paper airplane. Yep, there is an airplane in this pic JETERO WARBIRD One of my favorite events is the Jetero all size warbird event. This is a nice grass field outside of Dayton Texas. Michael Jackson is CD and puts on a nice event and makes everyone comfortable. The morning opened up with this spectacular sunrise with the temperature hovering at 51 F.

I had the opportunity to set up right next to Fred Daniels from Alvin and Larry Hultman from Livingston. What a grand time it was with a lot of good conversation. Larry was flying the 65% DrI and Fred was flying Pup (I think). I also had my SPAD so we had 25%, 33%, and 65% covered for the WWI crowd. The above pic has two boys sitting on the tires getting some shade.

I also had the chance to get the B-25 up and down several times. Even dropped a few bombs. The B-25 took 2nd place, people’s choice. I was truly humbled with this award. Finally, on the way home on the corner of 686 and 622 there is this old church. The corner stone has 1949 on it. Nothing ornate, but just a nice looking little church in the middle of nowhere.
