Help support WCHS students with the Achievement Booster Club by purchasing a
Valentine's Dinner for two. The meal will be catered by Frescos Italiano Chef Allam Torres.
The meal will consist of a 100% Black Angus steak along with all the trimmings. As an incen-
tive a local photographer is donating her services taking sweetheart snapshots of couples.
Dinner entertainment will be provided by a DJ as well as a local community member who recently qualified to be on a national television show. Door prizes will be given away and
your ticket goes into a drawing to win up to $1,000.00. The goal is to raise enough money to
offer students a scholarship. The event will take place February 15, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00
p.m. Location will be determined according to number of participants. To purchase a ticket
contact Traci Chesser by email [email protected] or by phone at 478-733-6000. You may
also contact Kathy Conger at [email protected] or 229-777-8439.
The booster club has many ideas to help support and encourage our future community
leaders. They have been responsible for the 9th grade pinning and awarding many students for
"A" and “A/B” honor roll, perfect attendance, and no discipline referrals.
We would like to continue offering these type of incentives in the future, but we need
your help to do so. You can help by purchasing a ticket for $100, which covers dinner for two.
If you can’t purchase a ticket any donation is greatly appreciated. The deadline to purchase tickets is February 13, 2013.

Pennies For Patients
Let’s not forget our annual Pennies for Patients fund-
raiser is underway. Please encourage students to par-
ticipate. The 5th period class that raises the most money will celebrate with a pizza party during their
5th period class.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Pennies
for Patients program, is a community service project
where students donate their spare change to fund blood cancer research and patient aid programs.
Remember, every penny counts!
Worth County High
School will be having a
School Council meeting
March 19, 2013, at 4:00
p.m. located in the
WCHS media center.
Parents and community
members are encouraged
to attend.
Worth County Schools Superintendent, Dr. Babs
Thomas, supports providing computer access to parents of
students who attend Worth County Schools. As a result, a
computer lab has been established at the Board of Educa-
tion for parent use.
You may contact Mrs. Cindy McGee to set
up access. Mrs. McGee may be reached at 229-776-
8600. We hope parents will take advantage of this useful
resource that is being provided. Computer access is free
of charge and internet access will be available. At the current time printing is not avail-
able but we hope to provide this service in the near future. We recommend you bring a
flash drive for saving documents to be printed.
Please feel free to contact me for assistance with our website. I would be happy
to set up an appointment to meet you at the Board of Education. If you need assistance
with PowerSchool, I may be able to help you with that as well. I can be reached at 229-777-8439 or [email protected].
WCHS Achievement Booster Club (ABC) is helping support many initiatives to benefit students. As
I mentioned in a previous newsletter they are recognizing students for having “A” and “A/B” honor
roll, perfect attendance, and no discipline referrals.
All qualifying students names are placed in a drawing and 5 names are drawn for each category. As
an incentive, $20 gift cards will be given to the 5 students whose names are drawn for each category.
2nd 9 weeks drawing winners are: (Winners will need to see Mrs. Odom to receive their prize)

For the first time in several years, WCHS hosted a Science Fair. Our students and teachers worked very hard research-
ing and building projects to display. We asked community members to volunteer their time to be judges. The commu-
nity members were excited and happy to help out with this event. A special thank you
to all who were involved.

The Elementary and Secondary Education Assistance Act of 1965 (ESEA)[Section 1111 (6)(A)] These regulations allow you to learn more about your child’s teachers’ training and credentials. We are happy to provide this
information to you. At any time, you may ask:
Whether the teacher met state qualifications and certification requirements for the grade level and subject he/she is teach-ing,
Whether the teacher received an emergency or conditional certificate through which state qualifications were waived, and
What undergraduate or graduate degrees the teacher holds, including graduate certificates and additional degrees, and
major(s) or area(s) of concentration. You may also ask whether your child receives help from a paraprofessional. If your
child receives this assistance, we can provide you with information about the paraprofessional’s qualifications.
Our staff is committed to helping your child develop the academic knowledge and critical thinking he/she needs to succeed
in school and beyond. That commitment includes making sure that all of our teachers and paraprofessionals are highly skilled.
