MEET OUR BOARD

MARTIN ERLENBAUGH, Director

After my spending 42 years in education as principal, teacher, professor, and

mentor in Indiana, Jean and I retired in 2011 and moved to Auburndale in 2014. Over our 40+ years of marriage, we've raised three great kids and we celebrate our eight grandkids with them.

Our youngest daughter and her family live in Lakeland so it's convenient to see some gkids at their schools and sporting events. When summer arrives, we spend a couple of months at our lake house in Indiana with our other kids and their children. We enjoy boating on Clear Lake which is a crystal-clear glacier lake near the Indiana/Michigan/Ohio borders.

During those pre-retirement years while in education, I volunteered at the Indiana Heart Hospital, and worked for the Indianapolis Indians and Indianapolis Colts. Jean and I have enjoyed world travels while our son worked for Delta Airlines. We continue to be active in our church, Saint Alban's, Auburndale, and enjoy all the social events at LJL.

This is my second round of being a member of the Board of Directors, having first been elected in 2015. I intend to maintain an active roll in helping keep LJL a great place to live and for all residents to enjoy. I support the Board's effort in keeping a working relationship with the park owner and their team of employees. Working together makes a “happy place”.

A Message from your LJL Management Team

We hope that you are enjoying the start of another beautiful summer season at LJL. We have completed some projects within our clubhouse and pool deck resurfacing. We have experienced some issues with our pool and irrigation which I know has affected us all and we appreciated your patience and understanding as we worked thru them. We will be working on other projects and continue to address and resolve some of our unfinished issues with as minimal downtime as possible. We have worked to create an email contact list so that we can communicate directly with our residents to keep you up to date. We hope that this information is helpful to all. If you are not receiving the communications from our office, please contact us so that we may verify your email information. The season is upon us for hurricanes. Please work to prepare yourself and your pets so that you are not caught off guard. We will have information available in the office and clubhouse to assist you. Please remember if we do have a potential threat and evacuations are ordered you need to leave. Our clubhouses will be locked as they are not an approved shelter. We have received several complaints as it relates to our pets. Please respect your neighbors. If a resident does not want your pets to use their yards please abide by their request. Pets are to be on a leash when outside the home and accompanied by you and you are responsible to pick up after your pets and this includes walking them on Lundy Road. Homes need to be checked on a regular basis for any repairs and cleaning, landscaping beds for weeds and mulching, and your sprinkler systems needs to be inspected periodically as well. Any exterior improvements, changes (including painting) or additions are required to be approved by the community office in advance of work being done. Golf carts are not allowed on the walking path that runs between the north and south sides of Marianna Drive nor are they allowed to be parked or driven on the grass areas. Children under 14 are not allowed to drive golf carts and if 14 or older but do not have a valid driver’s license MUST be accompanied by an adult. Parking is not permitted on the streets overnight or on the grass at your home. If you need to park anywhere other than your own driveway or have guests that need to park, please contact the office to see what options are available.
