Sustainable Access ControlPower over Ethernet (PoE) for PoE-enabled access control allows facilities to leverage existing network infrastructure for enhanced security and easier, more cost-effective installations. Bringing the power of the network to access control delivers sustainable access control by improving energy efficiency, reducing infrastructure, and simplifying installations. PoE-based systems can reduce power requirements from 20W to as little as 3W.

A PoE-friendly locking device has a current draw of less than 350 milliamps (mA) at 12VDC (4W) per device. When used in conjunction with a reader, both components can be powered by a single-door PoE controller. • Reduces overall power requirements• Reduces number of traditional power supplies required

(583 mA @12VDC,292 mA @ 24VDC)
* Harmony, Access 600 RNE1, and SE LP10 mortise locks with EcoFlex™ technology draw 1.5W on average. A PoE-enabled EAC panel will draw additional current that will raise the overall power consumption of the opening.
Corbin Russwin and Sargent electrified mortise locks with EcoFlex™ technology are GreenCircle certified to use up to 96% less energy than standard solenoid mortise locks.
