The Pipistrelle Bat Species

Features….The Pipistrelle bat has little ears, little brown fuzzy body with long arms. This bat has pretty short legs, and weighs about 0-1.2 ounces and has a wingspan of 7-9 inches long. The pipistrelle bat has a very cute appearance and size.

Habitat….The Western Pipistrelle bat lives in southern Washington through the western United States, to southern Mexico.

The Pipistrelle bat lives in rocky areas such as canyons, cliffs and under lose rocks.

Enemies…..The Pipistrelle bat has very few enemies. These enemies are large –medium sized owls and possibly other larger spacious of bats.

Diet….The Pipistrelle bat eats swarming insects like,: moths, flies, and beatles.

This bat finds its food using echolocation at night to find its prey.

Interesting facts…….Did you Know that the Western Pipistrelle bat likes to be the first one out at night to fin its prey(dinner)

The longest recorded lifespan of a Pipistrelle bat was 11 years!
