Belize is an important and relevant transit and transhipment hub ÿn the Caribbean, witnessing substarÿtiaI

rpovement of trade and personnel. Due to the level of trade arid ÿts geo{ÿrapftic iocation, the regiorÿ lÿaÿ,' be

attractive to proiiferators in their efforts to conduct illicit activitÿes Since the adoptioÿ] of the United Nations

Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1540 (2004), Belize has made significant strides towards implementing its

obligations and adopt the necessary meas_oures- contaired tlaereJn. Over the past 24 months, the couÿtrv, tqas worked
