GROW WILD GRANT / THE PEOPLE’S GARDEN / MOBILE VERSION

MOBILE VERSIONdue to the delay in construction work, it was necessary to rethink how to create the people’s garden in a mobile way in order to achieve the aims of the project.

the bearpit improvement group works under different work streams: trade, heritage, art, greening and play. having to rethink the people’s garden we thought it would be a great opportunity to make the greening meet art and play. we’ve decided to create a Tetris themed mobile garden which will decorate the bearpit with 10 flowers beds and create 5 seating areas.

phase 1 of the project will be a community engagement event where we will build the Tetris shape flowers beds out of recycled pallets and paint them. the idea is still to be a garden of wild flowers, create a social and engaging space and be flexible on site during the construction. this will allow to grow the flowers and come January they will be ready to be transferred.

We envision this mobile garden to be the first of its kind becoming an attraction to the site during the works and still be fun, colourful and informative.

phase 2 will be the sowing of the flowers and phase 3 will be the event to celebrate all the hard work of the volunteers, Inaugurate the garden and celebrate the wonderful world of wild flowers.
