JAHBERO PLAY THE MUSIC OF TADD DAMERON FOUNDRY616

Tadd Dameron was a bebop composer and arranger who often worked with large ensembles. He was a deep thinker about the new music, who also imbued his contributions to it with more than a nod to the legacy of the swing era. He has been described as a “romanticist” by the great bop tenor Dexter Gordon, who spoke to musical charm and poignancy which can be heard in many of his compositional works.

This new septet, led by drummer Andrew Dickeson, celebrates the musical legacy of Tadd Dameron and his unique rhythmic approach. A special night for jazz fans which will feature Sydney’s leading young, bebop inspired players, and anchored by the outstanding rhythm section of Dickeson and Clarke.
