Louisville, KY achieved a 14-point gain in mathematics. Stamford, CT cut its achievement gap in half.

Implement Broad Math & Science Improvement Strategy: Strengthen math and science curricula to jump start change management. Build Strong Leadership: Select leaders with strong knowledge of business culture supported by external consultants with expertise in education. Engage Stakeholders: Engage business, community leaders, parents, non-profits, and policy makers to build and maintain an effective management structure.Implement Targeted Professional Development: Initiate high quality PD for teachers, administrators & central office to enable sustained system improvement.
