"Be sure that you first preach by the way YOU live. If you do not, people will notice that you say one thing, but live other-wise, and your words will bring only cynical laughter and a derisive shake of the head" - St. Charles Borromeo
Dear Brothers and Sister Columbiettes:
My inspirational quote above should leave a lot of us with plenty of " food for thought". Bringing you up to date from our April edition, on April 10th our Council hosted the State Deputy at a special Conference Meeting on the new on-line membership process. It was well attended and from all reports very informative.
On a much sadder note, on April 13th we had our Wake Service for our Dearly departed Brother PGK Mickey Mingino. A member for well over 60 years he will be sorely missed by all, may he rest in the peace and comfort of Our Lord. On April 15th Columbiette Chapter President Elaine Addie and Norm Wagner hosted the Columbiette and Chapter Communion Breakfast. Mass was at Mt. Carmel and the breakfast at the Council was well attended and a good time was had by all. On the same day our Brother Knight Stan Zizka and his group The Del Satins had a very successful sold out 2 show concert at the Madi-son Steak House in Hauppauge, I was there along with Jim Addie and John Orlando and several other Knights and want to thank Stan for the public praise of OUR COUNCIL and the K of C. I would like to wish all the newly nominated slate of Officers the very best of luck in the upcoming elections, some new additions to the rotation is always promising.
Finally, I'd like to wish all the Mother's a very special Happy Mother's Day and to OUR dearly departed Mother's, rest in peace knowing our prayers and thoughts are with you on this SPECIAL day.
Let us always remember "FAMILY FIRST" and also our founder Fr. Michael J. McGivney, apostle to the young, protector of Christian Life, Pray for us. PEACE BE WITH YOU ALL. VIVAT JESUS ! JOHN
Congratulations to our newest Honorary Frank C. Trotta
I am happy to report that our records and forms are currently all up to date. Please update your information as needed.

Elliott, FS 151 Springdale Drive, Ronkonkoma, NY 11779 631-588-2919 [email protected]

Can it be true? It’s May? Has spring finally arrived? I certainly hope so. I’m sure that we can all agree that we are ready for the nice weather.
Speaking of nice weather, hopefully we will once again have a nice day on May 20th when we hold the New York State Pilgrimage to Our Lady of the Island Shrine in Manorville, located at 258 Eastport Manor Rd, Manorville, NY 11949. Join your Brothers and Sisters from all around New York State, along with the State Family, for a Rosary Walk at 10 am, followed by Mass at 11:30. If you have never been there for Mass, or haven’t been there for a while, this
is the perfect opportunity.
I would also like to take a moment to say Happy Mother’s Day to all of the Mom’s out there. I truly hope that you enjoy your Day.
The New York State Convention was held at the end of April, and I will be giving you all a detailed report at the next business Meeting. We are coming down the stretch for the Columbian Year. Soon we will be holding Council elections. Good luck to all of those running.
May 28th is also Memorial Day. Please take a moment to remember all those that paid the ultimate price.
Vivat Jesus –
Michael Boehm P.G.K., D.D., N.Y. 3 Chairman of the Board of District Deputies Suffolk County, L.I., N.Y.
Save the Date, Wednesday August 8th.
We are also looking for bottles of wine & liquor to
be donated to make up a Basket of Cheer for the
outing. Please bring them to the Council Meeting.

Calling Post ―Robo Call‖ – Council Events and Information
SK James Ryan / Cell: 631-278-9429 / E-mail: [email protected]
Please note the number below or program it into your phone service Caller ID:
“Robo Call” Caller ID 631-866-6735
The most recent message sent out by the Council are recorded on this number. #1 reason Members miss the Call – You pick up the call „Live‟ and hang up too quickly. If you are not receiving the calls, it is for one of two reasons. Either, we do not have your phone number or you have a phone service feature preventing the calls coming through because the feature deems our calls to be telemarketing calls.
Suffolk County Chapter Communion Breakfast co-chairs Elaine Addie and Norman Wagnor welcome everyone to the Chapter Knights and Columbiettes Communion Breakfast held Sunday April 15th at Patchogue Council. The Breakfast was held following a Mass at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. The Annual event was very well attended and a good time was had by all. Special thanks to all those who helped out, especially Phil Graniello, Bill Fontaine, Bill Wallace and Joe Sheldrick. And special thanks to Fr. Henry for hosting the Mass and Fr. Gus as well for a wonderful Mass.
Holy Angels Spotlight:
This week our students participated in our annual science fair. All of our
students learned so much though their own experimentation and from
listening to one another's projects. We also had 4
students who proudly represented Holy Angels at the Diocesan STEM fair at Holy Trinity High School this past weekend. The science fair truly shows hands on learning at its best!
Thanks! Jamie
Patchogue Columbiette Honored as Woman of Distinction
On Tuesday March 20 Suffolk County Legislator Rudy Sunderman joined together for a luncheon in honor of 18 Woman of Distinction Honorees. These women dedicate their time to help their communities in so many ways. My Woman of Distinction honoree is Janeth Billian. Janeth volunteers in many different organizations, including the Patchogue Columbiettes, helping the young to the elderly as well as taking care of her family. I truly admire her dedication and commitment throughout her community. Congratulations to all these amazing women, but especially to our 3rd LD District resident, Janeth.

My Dear Sister Columbiettes and Brother Knights,
Wow, what a busy month April was, with two communion breakfasts, our meeting, the Victorian Tea
and a major degree. Now I think we all need a well-deserved rest. I want to thank everyone who
helped with all these events, without you none of this would have been possible. Unfortunately, we lost two special
people in April, Flo Petralia and Micky Mingino. Please keep their families in your prayers.
May is a quiet month with only one event coming up, Friendship Night at the Mediterranean Manor, May 8th at
6 pm. This event has always been a fun evening and this year the Patchogue Women’s Club is sponsoring the night.
I hope to see many of you there.
I wish you all a wonderful Mother’s Day and Memorial Day.
I would like to wish all our May Birthday Baby’s a Very Happy and Healthy Birthday.
Please keep Joann Brandi in your prayers as she is still recovering from surgery.
Please take note of my new phone number as I will no longer be using the 631 number.
May the peace of our Lord be with you always,
Betty Weeks, President
