acquainted with LEE HARVEY .OSWALD. This unidentif ied male

was said to have made r ~ f e r e n c e . to President .KENNEDY, and

"shooting between the eyes, 11 ·and t ha t he had a fr iend who

lvaS an American, a Marxist , · and. was a sharpshooter. and

could speak several . languages, . including .Russian. The

Parrot Jungle employee re la ted tha t the unidentif ied male, -,__

in one instance, referred to his friend by the name "LEE,"

and remarked that the friend was ei ther in Texas or M e ~ i c o .

On M<Lrch 6, 1964, Hrs. LILLIAN SPINGLER, theParrot Jungle employee who previously furnished the in for -

mati.on concerning the afore-described unidentif ied male,

contacted the Hiami Office of the FBI to advise t ha t theunidentif ied individqal had returned to the Parrot Jungleon that date and 1-1as ol:lserved by her to drive a blue and

tvhite Chevrolet bearing 1964 Florida l icense 1-143874.

Hrs. SPINGLER said that l1rs: MARY TYSON, \vho operates thet icket booth a t the Parrot Jungle andspeaks ·Spanish, as

MARTINEZ said t ha t his wife , CONCEPCION LUISACORTES H.A.DR..A.ZO, had come to the United States with him in

July, 1960, but they have since separated and are contemplat ing divorce.

MARTINEZ s ta ted t ha t his immigration into theUnited States was sponsored by MICHAEL McLANEY, who hadoperated the casino in the Nacional Hotel in Havana before the Government of FIDEL CASTRO closed down suchoperat ions. MARTINEZ said t ha t when he los t his job in

the Cuban Customs Service in the f i r s t part of 1959,

when the CASTRO Government removed the pre-CASTRO personnel ,he, ~ ~ R T I N E Z , worked fo r McLANEY a t the casino in the gen

era l capacity of h ~ n d l i n g Spanish-speaking c l i en t s . He

said that as of July , 1960, he reached the decis ion tha t

he could no longer accept the res t r ic t ions of freedom

being imposed_by the CASTRO regime, and decided to move tothe United States . He said tha t very short ly a f t e r a r r iva l ,

he began emp.loyment a t the Fontainebleau Hotel a t Miami

Beach as a "runner ," handling cars , and with the exceptionof about three or four weeks during 1960 when he worked a t

a motel on the 79th St ree t Causeway, Miami Beach, he has

been s teadily employed a t the Fontainebleau.

poorpronunciation of English,

lack of arammatical correctness . Resta ted tha t , in fac t ,

MARTINEZ stated that he i s acquainted with no one

individual who had served in the U. S. Armed Forces. Hestated that he, himself , speaks Spanish and broken English,and no other language, and he does not have any friendor acquaintance who can spealc the Russian language. MAR-TINEZ said tha t , l ikewise, he could think of no acquaintance whom he knew to be a marksman or sharpshooter, and headded that i f he had made some remark.of this nature to the

and continued in tha t department unt i l the beginning of1959, a t which time he was the Customs Inspector in Chargeof Havana Harbor and the Colombia. Air Base near Havana.He said he was economically comfortable, in tha t he wasearning $900.00 a month as of 1959, and resided rent freein a $40,000.00 home.in Havana which belonged to his aunt,and which he would eventually inher i t .

law, CARLOS PUJOL, was a government administrator duringthe regime of-Cuban President CARLOS PRIO, and it was

through PUJOL tha t MARTINEZ o_riginally obtained employmentin 1949 in the Ministry of Finance.

PEREZ ABRE:U, had been a successful and well-to-do at torneyin Cuba pr ior to the advent of FIDEL CASTRO to power, buthad since l os t his propert ies through confiscation by theCASTRO regime. He said he did not knaw the whereabouts ofhis father , although the la t te r might s t i l l be in Cuba. ~ esaid tha t his mother, CARMEN SOTO URQUIZA, h<>d di•10rced hisfather years ago, and married EMILIO GARCIA PEREZ, who had
