As Friday’s in Lent are a day of abstinence from meat and a day recom- mended for fasting, we are invited to do that in solidarity together at this meal , and the free will offering requested is intended to cover the cost of the meal plus something extra that will be available to share with the three charities designated to benefit from our alms- giving this Lent: St Vincent de Paul, Catholic Relief Services, and the El Tablon Housing Project of Food for the Poor. Let us PRAY, FAST, and GIVE ALMS together as a community of faith this coming Friday as the last Friday in LENT. Tenebrae; The Service of the Shadows: Once again Fr. Healey is inviting members of the parish community to join him at this special prayer service at the Cathedral on March 28th at 7:30PM, the Wednesday evening of Holy Week. A Soup and Sandwich will be served in the Parish Hall at 5PM before boarding a bus to Fall River at 6PM. Please indicate your desire to participate by contacting the parish office by Monday, March 26th. One Day Each Week/One Week Each Year: For the tremendous gifts of time and eternity we are asked to make a return to the Giver! Six days of the week are ours for work, study, commerce, sports, entertainment, and chores, but one belongs to the Lord who gives us life and the time to live it and so on that day we devote our time to worship, recreation and rest. Recreation is an activity that restores us rather than depletes us; It is never an activity from a “business as usual” kind of day! Fifty-one weeks of the year are ours but one is marked out as belonging to the Lord who has purchased endless life for us with the gift of his own life. So if we haven’t done so already, let us mark our calendars now and eliminate all unnecessary commitments from Sunday, March 25th to Sunday, April 1st so that through communal worship, fasting, personal prayer, sacred silence, scripture and spiritual reading we may make that week in reality what it is called: HOLY! HOLY WEEK - SACRED TRIDUUM SCHEDULE Sunday - PALM SUNDAY OF THE LORD’s PASSION - March 24th/25th - Palms will be blessed and distributed and the Passion according to St. Mark will be proclaimed at all Masses. The Mass on Sunday at 10:30 AM will begin in the Parish Hall where Palms will be blessed and the Palm Sunday Procession will form and move to the Church. Monday of Holy Week - March 26th - Mass 8:30 AM. Confessions will be heard in the church from 3PM to 6PM. Tuesday of Holy Week - March 27th - Mass at 8:30AM and 5:30PM (Bishop to bless the Holy Oils and Priests to renew their commitment at the Chrism Mass at the Cathedral in Fall River - 4PM). “Many thanks to all who have so generously donated diapers/wipes to the food pantry. Diapers are still needed – sizes 4, 5, 6, pullups and wipes are most needed. Please drop off at food pantry on Wed. morning, at weekend Mass, or call Gail, 508-457-0031.”

FAREWELL TO OUR RELIGIOUS SISTERS: A celebration honoring not only the service but especially the witness of consecrated life that we have been privileged to enjoy among us in the religious vocations of Sr. Annette, Sr. Clare, and Sr. Shirley will be held on Sun-day, April 8th at the 10:30AM Mass followed by a brunch in the parish hall. This celebra-tion anticipates the impending, and for all of us the sad departure from our midst of the Religious Sisters who have been among us for many years. Yet we are reminded that while they have blessed our community with their presence and witness, they ultimately belong to their respective religious communities who have discerned with them that at this age and stage of their lives, it is time for them to “come home”. An invitation to all parishioners in the form of a flyer will be included in the bulletin, please RSVP so that we may advise the caterer of the approximate number to serve. Donations to assist the Sisters in their transition may be given to CTK Parish in envelopes marked “Sisters” so that these may all be put in a form permitted for the Sisters’ personal use and divided and distributed equally among them. The Sisters will receive a list of all donors.

Come and share your hopes and dreams for our Church! Bishop Edgar M. da Cunha, S.D.V., is hosting a series of Listening Sessions at different parish locations as part of the strategic planning process here in the Fall River Diocese. Members of diocesan parishes are invited to attend one of them to offer their thoughts into that process. A session will be held here at Christ the King Parish, Mashpee on Thursday, April 5th from 6:30 to 8PM.
