Harvest Festival or "Magavau" in Kadazan, a special celebration ceremony to honor "Bambazon" the spirit of rice. This festival is traditionally the kadazandusun practice since ages. Regatta Lepa-Lepa is Bajau traditional annual festival in Semporna District celebrated every April. Celebration Regatta Lepa-Lepa was first commercialized in 1994 to commemorate the tradition Lepa-Lepa. Carnival was first introduced in 1994 as a celebration of the district level and then recognized to be a festival of Sabah state level. In 2003 the carnival was included in the calendar 'Malaysia Water Festival' and now the carnival is an annual event with one of Malaysia.
