BUREAU OF IMMIGRATION l Charleston, 21st February, lKi*i7. j' The undersigned, having been appointed Commis¬ sioner, has been instructed by his Excellency, Gov¬ ernor OUR, to organize the Bureau at the earliest possible moment. In a few days Agents will be ap¬ pointed by the Governor to proceed to Europe, whose duty it will be to induce immigration to our State, to disseminate such information as may <h furnished them of hinds for sale or lease, and to en¬ gage such laborers, mechanics, servants and other help, as may be desired by the inhabitants of tlx State. All Agent for the same object will perhaps be sent to New York. It would bo desirable thai our people furnish this Bureau without delay, with i format ion how they desired to be served, indica¬ ting the kino of U«lp (hey require, and the wages which they are willing to pay, orn description of the lands they have for sale or lease, and their ten... and conditions. If combinations can be formed in the several Districts bf the State for joint action, it would perhaps facilitate mutual operations: ami where arrangements can he made to advance part of the passage money of the laboring immigrants, by accepted orders to that effect oil any of the fac¬ tors or merchants of Charlestou, it would no doubt greatly advance the result, if the people that fa¬ vor I bis measure would meet at their respective Court-Houses to consult and indicate their wants, this Bureau would take great pleasure in seiving their interest to tbe best of its ability. A pamphlet will be printed in several European languages for distribution, describing the capacities and advan¬ tages of our soil, climate, productions, etc.. in which many particulars that are promptly furnished may be advertised. The means at the disposal of this Bureau being strictly limited, the kind assistance of the conductors of our public journal;, is respect¬ fully requested. JOHN A. The undersigned, having been appointed Commis¬sioner, has been instructed by his Excellency, Gov¬ernor OUR, to organize the Bureau at the earliestpossible moment. In a few days Agents will be ap¬pointed by the Governor to proceed to Europe,whose duty it will be to induce immigration to ourState, to disseminate such information as may <hfurnished them of hinds for sale or lease, and to en¬gage such laborers, mechanics, servants and otherhelp, as may be desired by the inhabitants of tlxState. All Agent for the same object will perhapsbe sent to New York. It would bo desirable thaiour people furnish this Bureau without delay, with
