Planning for your next corporate brochure can be a daunting task. What’s worse, producing engaging ones seems like an arduous undertaking. But we’re not here to discuss how hard it is. Instead, we are here to guide marketers on choosing the right brochure sizes so that their marketing budget is not spent to little or no avail.

To help decide the ideal size of brochures, marketers need to determine the amount of contents they want to include as well as the company’s budget on that

project. The size of your brochure determines the visual impact of your content, as well as the price for producing it. However, due to the size, marketers will have to optimize and make do with the space available in order to make the brochure

informative and attractive.

To make everything simpler for you, here are some popular brochure sizes we’ve listed down for you to consider:

1. A4Perhaps one of the most popular brochure

sizes used by companies due to the familiarity

that people have with this term. It’s also the

easiest for storage or presentation, since they

fit into most ready-made folders, which act as

great marketing kits.

Despite it’s popularity, we can safely assume

that only a handful of people know its exact

dimensions. Do you know your measurements

by heart? In case you didn’t, there’s no need to

Google it. We have the answer: 210 mm x 297 mm. Isglobal. Source: http://www.wearemucho.com

2. A5If brochure size is a competition, A5 will be

more of a runner up, falling just behind A4, the

champion. With a dimension of 148mm x 210 mm, an A5 brochure will make a less bulky

brochure with just enough space to get creative.

This allows marketers to prioritize details and

produce a much more compact yet informative

visual for the audience.

3. DLAnother increasingly popular brochure size

emerging is the DL brochure. Due to its size

that’s perfect for inserting into envelopes, DL

owes its fame to companies that believe in the

power of direct mail campaigns. Depending

on the amount of information, marketers have

the flexibility of using a single DL sheet of size

110mm x 220mm, or an A4/A5 folded to DL.

4. Customized/SquareOur personal favourite. Although not as widely

known, customized sizes are more unique

and diverse compared to standardized sizes.

The dimensions are flexible and can be suited

according to preference. Customized sizes are

highly effective in attracting attention, as they

stand out from everyday documents, which are

mostly A4 or A5. This means your collaterals don’t

get overlooked or forgotten so easily.produce a

much more compact yet informative visual for the

audience.

Our opinion?Choose a DL or customized sized brochure to promote discoverability and diversity. Due to

highly personalized contents, direct mail campaigns have been proven to be very effective still,

despite vast improvements in technology and increased email usages over the years. But that

will be discussed later on.

The decision, nonetheless, is ultimately dependent on your budget, organization goals,

marketing strategies, and of course, personal preferences. Using a standardized size does not

indicate that you lack diversity. It just means that the brochure is slightly more difficult to stand

out, as it tends to blend in with other documents of similar size.

But not to worry, size is just a bonus. You can promote discoverability with other elements

of your brochure such as design, which includes the choice of colours. Find out how by
