Why renovate the OLS? 

2.19 million OLS logins in 2012, compared to 1.81 million in 2011. Students visited unit pages 5.04 million times in 2012.

92.4% of all OTEN students accessed the OLS in 2012

62% of all assessments were submitted via the OLS in 2012.

70.81% of all assessments submitted by OLS in 2013 YTD.

Students changed their contact details (email and phone) 80, 735 times in 2012…

… and downloaded 41, 469 exams

OLS Project Control Group to steer the project

•Collate and prioritise staff and student feedback •Extensive consultation with staff about redesign•Decisions on interface design and accessibility issues•Business requirements to the programmers and web designer •Advise OTEN Management on progress and implementation •Test new site and refine accordingly•Map all existing content to new structure•Help teachers design course & units for new online environment•Update all OLS technical guides for staff and students•Redesign the OLS tour to orientate students•Communicate with students and staff about the OLS renovation
