DIRECTOR’S ARTICLE
Lead a Ride for a Chance to Win $25 in Gas
There is a common misconception in the H.O.G.community that you absolutely have to be a RoadCaptain to lead a ride. Starting a few years agowhen some of us were at H.O.T., we discoveredthat there are no requirements for someone leadinga ride. However, there are some legal requirementswhen it comes to waivers for a nonmember. I sayall that to say this. If you have a good ride that youenjoy then the other members might enjoy it aswell. If that’s the case and you’re a little uncom-fortable then get with a Road Captain and see ifthey can assist you. We decided at a recent businessmeeting to give Ride Leaders/Road Captains someincentive for leading rides. If you’ve led a ride, then at the next chapter meeting your name will beentered into a drawing for a $25 QT gas card. Lastmonth Denny Heare won the card. Denny had led aride to “The Ride to Live.” H.O.G. is all aboutriding and having fun so I want us to do as muchriding as possible. So get out and lead a ride, withas many folks that are riding in our chapter nowdays the fun is bound to happen.

Keeping it in the SEC Ride Recap
Billed as an Athens ride then when I took it over Iat least wanted to keep it in the SEC and with mebeing an Auburn fan it was a no brainier to go toAuburn. We had a good group of bikes that wentback roads down to eat at “The Auburn Diner”; welater discovered it is affiliated with “The MariettaDiner” so the deserts were awesome. From therewe just drifted over to the local dealer where theywere having a reverse auction for a Road King. Wepooled our money to try to win. But much to our
disappointment we didn’t win it. However, I got mypicture made with “Aubie” (Auburn Mascot). I wastold I got a little excited about it. He made an appear-ance at the dealership. It was a fun time. We cameback the short way on the interstate since it was hot.
