S Stephen Timms (MP) Keeps His Promise to

the Students at Vicarage Primary School Mr Timms came to visit Vicarage Primary School

In January 2014 the School councillors at Vicarage Primary

School visited The Houses of Parliament. As part of their tour,

they met Stephen Timms, MP for East Ham, whom they

invited to visit their school.

True to his words, Mr Timms came to visit Vicarage Primary

on Friday 14th March. He was greeted by the school council;

Bobbie-Lea (Chair), Lucas Vasiloiu (Vice-Chair) and Megan

Anderson (Secretary) led by Mrs Farzana Hussain (Assistant

Head Teacher). During his visit, Mr Timms was given a tour of

the school, showing off the new Sports hall, the field that is to

be developed into a Multi-Use Games Area and the new Early

Years building.

He then attended the Lower Key Stage 2 assembly and along

with Councillor Rev. Quintin Peppiatt and Head Teacher, Mrs

Yvonne Ward, handed out achievement certificates to the

students.

Mr Timms then enjoyed a delightful lunch prepared by Donna

Maybin, Vicarage's resident chef!

He sat with the school councillors and talked about their

visions to improve their education development.

Steven Timms' visit to Vicarage Primary has been an

inspiration to all the children, especially the School

Councillors. Before leaving Mr Timms said “I am very

impressed by all that I have seen at Vicarage and have been

delighted to hear from the pupils how proud they are of their

school”.
