IU 5 Crisis Response Procedures

Crisis event occurs in the school district.

During regular business hours, the superintendent

calls the Intermediate Unit's Crisis Response line

(866-207-6474) and reports a crisis situation. The

superintendent is connected with an Intermediate

Unit administrator for assistance.

After regular business hours, the superintendent calls

Professional Communications answering system at

814-452-8941. This answering system contacts an

Intermediate Unit administrator who calls the

superintendent.

The Intermediate Unit administrator consults with the

superintendent and gleans basic details of the crisis

situation and the school district’s need for

Intermediate Unit staff assistance.

The Intermediate Unit crisis staff are mobilized and

deployed by the Intermediate Unit administrator.

The Intermediate Unit crisis staff will arrive at the

school district crisis site and follow the school

district administrator’s direction according to the

school district’s crisis plan.
