Artists and audiences alike are invited to explore the process and methodologies for devising new work in this series of workshops. In each session, two companies will present their work and explain their unique approach to the creative process.

Dear Friend,

As we welcome in the new year, I’m pleased to share with you details on our newly announced The Next Thing (TNT) Festival.

Presented in association with The Center for the Theater Commons and The Public Theater’s Under the Radar Festival (NYC), TNT is a ten-day festival of performances, screenings and workshops designed to take audiences on a high energy tour of contemporary performance, all housed in ArtsEmerson’s Paramount Center in Downtown Boston.

From the opening moment, when mo-nologist Mike Daisey uncorks his latest monologue right through to closing—and open-rehearsal presentation of a new work in progress by the spoken word ensemble UNIVERSES—there is a focus on what’s next, richly informed by what’s come before.

The Festival will also feature perfor-mances by a local band, as well as public workshops produced by The Center for the Theater Commons in association with the National Theater Project at the New England Foundation for the Arts.

As a member of the theatre community, you have exclusive access to our special 50% off deal on Festival passes and dis-counted tickets. To purchase a Festival pass, use promo code TNTINDUSTRY13 on our website at artsemerson.org or call the Box Office at 617.824.8400.

Thank you for being an essential part of our arts community—I look forward to seeing you at the Festival and sharing this exciting work with you!

Warmly,

David DowerDirector of Artistic Programs

ArtsEmerson: The World On Stage, in association with The Center for the Theater Commons and The Public Theater’s Under the Radar Festival (NYC), presents a combustible combination of theatre, film, music, workshops and live-streamed events.
